Nyla
"Oh, uh, yeah. Thanks anyway." Nyla picked up the flowers and left the store. Her mother would be furious. She picked up her rocks and wandered down the streets until she found a decently busy corner. She set the flowers down beside her and propped the book up so the cover could be seen. "Natural rocks for sale," she said, in a whisper. Clearing her throat of the odd thickness in it, she repeated the statement in a louder voice. A couple people looked her way but nobody stopped. What am I doing? Earning money so my mother can just go throw it away? Nyla's gaze hardened and she slammed the book down on top of the rocks. She picked the flowers up and walked home. She was mindful enough to leave everything outside as she entered. Nyla went straight for her room and pulled out her bag. She stuffed a small blanket and a pillow in it, along with a couple changes of clothing and her stuffed whale. After that she went to the table and sat down. Her mother had pulled out a bottle of alcohol and had gotten well into it while Nyla was gone. Nyla tore half the loaf of bread off and put it in her bag, along with some of the cheese. She took the entire apple but left the beans. "Bye, Momma." "Yeah, see ya. Where ya going?" "Oh, out and about. I might be gone a little while, don't worry." "Yeah, okay." Nyla left the house and scooped up the flower pot. The rocks she dumped into her bag, ditching the book. She didn't need it, and it just added extra weight. Now she could leave this dump. She had no destination in mind. Just away.

Skye 
"... Given the context of the situation," Skye began, "I don't know if I should answer that."

Outlaw 
She stood in the shadows of a building, watching the going ons from her hidden position. Just another boring, hateful day. She sighed quietly as her eyes drifted to the wall. There must be somethin else out there. 

Ashwin
He laughed. "So you're either someone very famous or very wanted. Or possibly you like having an air of mystery around you. Or maybe you just don't like people knowing your name." Ash shrugged a copper shoulder. "I don't see why it exactly matters. They'll get your name anyway, and since I brought you in I'm allowed to stay." He glanced over at her. Something about her was vaguely familiar, like he had seen her before. But he knew he hadn't. The voice was unfamiliar, and he tended to remember voices; the face and build, however, were what threw him off.

Skye
Although her expression was noncommittal, Skye's eyes gave hint to her amusement at the patrolman's speculation. "We all have secrets," she replied simply, studying him in her peripheral vision.

Ashwin
"Some more than others." He had been about to say he didn't, but his mind went to the poor man from earlier, and the many others before him. I guess I do. But I'm not sure why I keep those a secret, there isn't a law against it. "Turn left here." He turned the corner, being careful not to pull her too hard. The questioning block was just a turn or so away. "Well, for what it's worth, my name's Ash." 

Skye 
Oh, no kidding. "Skye," Skye replied. At least he doesn't know about my big secret. 

Ashwin
He led them around another couple bends, and suddenly the questioning block was just ahead. "Those who explore out of curiosity often just get a little slap on the wrist - metaphorically - and get out right away. Just saying." Ash winked, and then they were there. He unlocked the cuffs and handed her to the guard waiting at the door. He was shuffled into the observation room, where he could see the questioning via the large glass pane. It was a mirror in the other room, but here it was a window. 

Skye 
Skye sighed as she settled into the chair across from whoever was supposed to be questioning her. "I'll answer a total of five questions." The person across from her frowned. "I can promise you there will be a lot more than five questions." Skye shrugged. "Oh, I know. You can ask as many as you want, but I'm only going to answer five of them."

Ashwin
He pulled a chair over and sat down. There were some tech people in this room, running cameras, sound, etc. to make sure the questioning was recorded. Ash was there simply to watch. Someone had taken over his sector for him while he was occupied. 

Skye 
"What were you doing in the restricted area?" Skye shrugged. "What do you think I was doing?" The person across from Skye closed their eyes for a second. "We'd like to narrow it down," they said slowly.

Kaylee
Kaylee laughed bitterly, pain flickering over her face with the movement. "Tell me one useful thing an aquatic body mod can do in a world where we barely have bottled water."

Mason
 "Kaylee, it's not about the weird genetic mutations people have these days or who ends up with them. It's about how you're about to die and none of us can do anything to prevent that for much longer," he snapped, regretting it but trying to not let that show. "That's what this is about."

Skye 
"I was in that area earlier today- I had dropped something, so I went back to look. Then the alarm went off and I panicked." I wasn't the only one who lost something. Everyone's lost their freedom. And I did panic. The interrogator considered this for a moment before asking the next question. "What is your name?"

Outlaw 
She watched for a bit longer then trudged off in the shadows. See what kinda mischief she could arouse. After all, what fun was it if you couldn’t cause mischief?
