Diva turned to look at Snow and smiled, "Thanks. I don't know what I would of done without you, both of you." she said feeling better. A minute later Diva looked down at her leg. Well, looks like I'm going to be having a longer recovery. She thought.
A few days later Diva could pressure on her leg again. The ice boot wasn't needed anymore, and she could at go as fast as a trot. It may not be galloping, but it's one step forward. Diva was in the pasture trotting around. She had quite a bit of energy, so she was trotting for an hour or maybe even two. Better than just walking. The filly's mood and attitude had completely changed in the past few days. Diva was once again the happy little filly she hardly remembered being when she was younger. Other yearlings had also warmed up to Diva a little bit.

For the past few days, Snow had been worked in the small indoor arena at a walk, trot, and canter for the past few days by the same exercise rider. Although she didn't find a thrill in going slowly, she began to grow used to it. She'd been tried on for different bits and the grooms decided the best one for her was a standard snaffle bit like the one she'd worn the first time she was taken in the indoor arena. When she was done with her 2 hours, Snow was released into the pasture where she enjoyed her time munching on the fresh grass.

Something inside of Diva had changed her. She was a truly happy horse. Though she could only trot, she was happy. The filly came to a stop, and gave a nicker. Diva began to graze next to Snow. She kept flicking her tail around due to the flies. "When are these flies going to leave us be?" she said with a snort.

Snow shook her head to get the flies off and neighed in annoyance. "I have no idea. That weird smelling liquid the humans spray on us works, the flies never bother me then. I just wish they'd spray it on us again" She walked over to the shade of the large oak tree and began grazing there.

"Yeah it does," she said. Once Snow walked off, Diva returned to trotting around. She could also barely put as much weight on her leg any horse would. The filly was recovering quickly. Which also meant she would get back on the track faster. Diva wanted to see how fast she could trot without going to a canter. She couldn't go as fast as she thought she could, but she was still going at a good pace.

Snow lifted her head to watch Diva. She'd been impressed by how quickly the filly had recovered, even after she'd injured her leg further a few days ago because of that man. I don't even want to think about this dispicable man. I'm glad he's been taken away, but perhaps he deserves a kick or two for all he's done to hurt Diva, Snow thought, quickly returning to grazing under the nice shade.

Diva couldn't go that fast at a trot much farther. She slowed to a slow trot, and then a walk. The filly noticed Charlotte and Alaina, then walked over to them. She greeted them, and put her muzzle against Alaina's pocket.
"Looks like she found them," Alaina chuckled as Charlotte laughed. She reached her hand into her pocket, and grabbed some sugar cubes. Diva's favorite. The filly happily munched on the cubes. Once finished Diva gave Alaina a playful shove.

During those few days of Diva’s well progressing recovery, Vinn was taken to another race. This time a local one, and not as high end. The track was smaller, and there were fewer horses, but the thrill of racing still got Vinn excited. That morning she woke, perky and ready. Nia was Vinn’s jockey again, and the pair worked well together. The race ended well, with Vinn keeping her undefeated record. Of course, the best part of the race was nosing through the crowd, and waiting for Nia’s special treats when she finished.
After their return back to the stables, things were quiet and settled again. It appeared that Diva had made adequate progress, and Snow was doing much better with the different tack. Vinn celebrated her win quietly, with a few easier practices. She didn’t even mention the race to Snow or Diva, she just let them ponder.

Snow watched Vinn curiously from afar. She didn't know where Vinn had been, but the filly looked different. Snow thought she could see her carry herself slightly taller and even get a few special treats from Nia. It made her wonder, but she didn't dwell on it for too long. She saw someone coming her way. She snorted at them when they stopped in front of her. They greeted her and led her to the pasture fence where they put some tack on her. She was then led to the racing track where a trainer was waiting. The trainer led Snow and the rider through the activities of the day. She said that they would try to race halfway around the track while being timed, which got Snow pumped up.

Once Diva was done with Alaina and Charlotte she went back to trotting around the pasture. She did notice Vinn went somewhere that day, but where? The filly didn't think about it much, and just kept doing what she was doing. Diva could do this all day since she was stuck in a stall for about two weeks. If she could gallop, she'd get tired more easily. The filly was happy though. She was glad she could at least trot. Walking around in a pasture would be boring.

As soon as Snow was set at the gates, she began looking from side to side in a panic. It's okay, I'll be out and galloping in just a few moments, the gate is only for a bit, She tried comforting herself. When the gates opened, Snow bolted out, galloping about on the track. It seemed too short when her rider halted her and had her walk toward the trainer, who was now holding a stopwatch and nodding with a large smile. She didn't pay much attention the trainers words but she did hear the part where Snow had gotten a shorter time than before. Her rider gave her a few good pats and led her back out to the pasture where she cantered over to Diva.

Diva stopped trotting around when she noticed Snow in the gates. She watched standing by the paddock gate closest to the track. Her ears perked watching Snow run the short distance. The filly could sense her friend had improved. Diva was grazing by the time Snow was back in pasture, and cantering over to Diva.

"Did you see that!" She whooped cheerfully. "That was the fastest I've ever run in... forever! I guess your advice really did help. So thank you for that" She stood next to Diva and began to graze once again.

Vinn was put in her stall and watched Snow race excitedly on the track. Vinn peeked her head out of the backside of the barn’s window, and nickered loudly to congratulate Snow from afar. Vinn let Diva and Snow back to their celebration, and Vinn turned back to the issue at hand. Getting out of this stall, and to a washbay. Stat. Vinn was hot and sticky, and was in desperate need of a bath. Vinn lifted and nudged her stall door and escorted herself to the end of the barn, and waited for a groom to arrive and turn on the water.

Diva looked up and smiled, "You are truly improving, and your welcome," she said cheerfully. It's crazy at how fast Diva was healing. Not only that, but how much she has changed in the past few days. It's like her injury, her past, everything just doesn't bother her. She was truly happy. The filly was reliving her few first months on Earth where she was deeply a happy filly.
