requests disabled

I can see that I've got "requests disabled" written down next to my profile description and I don't remember doing anything about it. So how do you enable or disable friend requests ? I must have done something without realising it because I was getting friends requests before...

If you go to your home page and scroll down to where you can edit it, there's a drop box that's titled "New Friends" where you can allow or disable requests! c:

I really don't have a clue.... :( I simply can't see "new friends"

I see account info, member info, player points, show winnings, etc.

Account settings at the bottom

My bids, my stud requests, my user log and nothing about friends :(

In "your friends" section, all can see is: friends, send message; pending friends requests; quick add friend; members you have blocked; no option to enable or disable anything....

I seem to remember now that somebody sent me friend request and I clicked "ignore" - could this have caused disabling requests for my account ? If so , how do I enable it back ?

It's down in the group of drop-down arrows and text boxes right above where you can edit your page, which is titled "Account Settings." :)

Seriously, it is driving me crazy that I cannot see it...but I can't... what drop-down arrows and text boxes... ? Right above where I can edit my page is: your name, your status, e-mail address, your tag, allow transfers, that's it... I cannot see any drop box titled "new friends"

I've searched forum posts from the past and it seems that in 2016 basic players were also not able to see this feature in their settings. Very strange that such apparently known bug wasn't fixed yet... Even stranger that I was receiving friend requests until September but now I noticed that, out of the blue, I have them disabled....

It should be amongst those things you listed. I believe at one time basic players couldn't turn off friend requests for whatever reason; maybe that's still the case?

I was getting friend requests earlier and then they stopped and now I noticed that apparently I have them disabled, even though I didn't do anything (not knowingly anyway).

Hey guys, We looked into this and it looks like there's a little bug with Friend Request on the online list. Also apparently Basics aren't seeing the Allow/Disallow Friend requests dropdown in settings. 
If you'd like to report it as a bug so others can add their information as well and we can get reasons it might be having issues and have more information to fix it. 

Sorry, I've seen your comment, Sabriel, only now so will report it as a bug. I came back here to say that I've just received a friends request again but my status still says "requests disabled"

I have this exact same bug. I allowed one friend request and now suddenly my requests are disabled. I am also a basic member.

So it clearly isn't fixed yet. To be honest I don't even remember if I did go and create a bug report in the end because I spared enough credits to become deluxe in the meantime......

You cannot expect something to be fixed if you do not create a bug report for it, the forums are not a valid form of reporting bugs. 

That being said, this has been a recurring issue since 2016 and has been reported multiple times- and also fixed at one point, but has clearly returned. If one of you would like to make a new bug report for this issue with the details then please do. 

FYI - I went ahead and reported this as a bug (https://www.equiverse.com/bug-report.php?id=543)

The verdict is that disabling friend requests is a Deluxe feature only.
