Calling All Riders!!

#236119 Posted on 2021-02-24 09:08:53

Sounds eventful! :)

Yes, I have done roping, Cooper and I herd cows and the odd time we will compete, (but we don't compete in roping a lot, we mostly compete in barrel racing and doing rodeo's).

What would/does your dream stable look like (if you were to have one)?

Oooh that's a good one! The barn wouldn't be too fancy, maybe 10-12 stalls, a LARGE tack room (I always run out of tack space, lol), but the thing I'd want most is an indoor arena! Living in Alberta, you can't ride much in winter without one. The inside of the barn would be pretty basic for looks, not all fancy like some, just a darker (maybe mahogany?) wood, nice solid wood doors on the stalls, may sound odd but I'd like a dirt floor for the alleyway, it provides better drainage and doesn't crack like concrete. The outside I'd want black siding with a royal blue roof and trim. And lots of nice big pastures, and an outdoor arena, or two, plus a decent round pen.

What would your dream horse trailer be?

That sounds like a really gorgeous dream stable! ♥ ♥ ♥
My dream horse trailer would be lime green, and would probably look something like this 8 slant horse trailer but the color would be lime green! (I know that sounds crazy and weird) but hey, I can dream of having/owning a lime green horse trailer, I think that it would be a very very unique horse trailer and you sure wouldn't miss it because of how bright it would be in color! ;)

Have you ever jumped bare back with your horse?

If jumping over puddles and logs counts than yes, lol.

Have you ever trained a horse to rear on command?

No, my horses don't have a lot of attention span to be trained in tricks like that.  I tried liberty with Yellow, my gelding, a few weeks ago and he had no idea what we were even trying to do when I took the lead rope off lol.

Have you ever been to a three day event?

No, but every third saturday of each month I had a gymkhana comp all day.

Have you ever when to the Kentucky Derby or any other famous race?

Yes, all the time during summer! On the day on the last day of school, I brought my sister's horse and my horse to school and we rode around town.

Have you ever brought your horse to school? I was able to for a project in World History Class

No, there are too many people that don't know practically anything about horses at my school and I don't want to hurt anyone if something happens.

Have you ever worked with a prospect horse?

Nope never have. Don't even know what a prospect horse is.

Previous question - (I couldn't help myself) Next year I'll be able to bring my horse to school for animal science class when we do the animal science fair for the elementary. That is if I have a horse by then.

Have you ever been on a trail ride and it didn't really make you happy, because the guide wouldn't let you go faster than a walk?

For me, yes I've been riding twice since I moved, it hardly did anything for me.

(@horsegirl, a prospect horse is a horse that hasn't been fully trained yet but getting ready to be).

I've actually never been trail riding at a farm like that with a guide.  When I go trail riding, I just go off myself.

Have you ever ridden in a dress?

I may seem spoiled when I say this, but no, I have never leased a horse out before, only owned them.

Have you ever had graduation pictures done with horses?  (Middle school graduation pictures count too).

Nope. I have had pictures taken of me and some horses I rode, but not for a graduation.

Have you ever seen a budweiser cydesdale?
