There has always been a reality- a place we live and dwell in. But where does reality itself dwell?

You find yourself getting lost in the amazing spring weather, then suddenly you're.... here. It's not reality, and everyone's a little mad and absurd. There are many different creatures and unnatural existences you shouldn't see- not in reality, at least. You don't know how to get back, but you want to, or perhaps you find this place much more entertaining than the one you lived in before. Or maybe you've lived here your whole life.

Whatever the case, there is bound to be trouble

Rules:

Harper
Harper had been dozing in the grass for probably thirty minutes- the only sleep she would get for a while. The night before had been a little rough; her and her little brother Shane had gotten stuck here while they were on a walk. Now neither of them had a clue how to get out, much less where they were. Harper vaguely remember there being tiny flutters of different coloured light across the night sky, though she couldn't tell if it was from the stars or some other mysterious supernatural being that was stalking her. Oh yes, there was a creature stalking them, though she could never manage to make out what it was. Luckily, thanks to Shane, they had been able to pinpoint where the creature was at most times, which at least made it easier for them to keep an eye on it.

Lorelei
Lori blinked up at the sky visible between the boughs of the trees, her lips in a ghost of a slight, fanciful smile. Diffused sunlight splashed across her face, causing the light colors in her eyes to sparkle. She skipped ahead a few steps, looking down at the forest floor. After she had migrated a few feet she slid to her knees and cupped her palm around a delicate blue flower just poking up from the leaf litter. "Silly ormlings, shoo." Lori blew on the flower, causing the petals to wave as if in the wind. Nothing seemed to change, no bugs or creatures clung to the plant or flew away. But Lori smiled, kissed the petals, and stood. She drifted toward the edge of the wood, humming softly to herself.

Shane
Shane lay on his back, staring at the sky with his hands behind his head. It was daytime now, but Harper was tired and had dozed off, leaving him to sit around waiting for her. He didn't mind, but his curiosity was starting to get the better of him in too many ways. He sighed, sitting up and taking out his pocket knife, morphing it into a bow as he stood up. The bow always came with one arrow, which he had to retrieve every time, but as for any others, he had to make them himself. That proved to be a chore.
After a moment of playing with the bow string for no apparent reason, he notched his arrow and brought it back, aiming it into the forest nearby. Then he shot, listening to the familiar whistle of the arrow flying.

Lorelei
Lori stepped over a fallen branch, still humming to herself. She paused, tilting her head slightly at the unfamiliar high-pitch sound that split the air, followed by a thud. Her feet slipped forward toward the noise, and before long she found the foreign object that had disturbed the peace. A barkless stick stuck out from a tree. Lori put her hand on the tree and closed her eyes briefly before opening them again. She moved away from the tree, appearing to have lost interest, and began singing softly, the words senseless.

Shane
Shane glanced at Harper, who was still quietly sleeping (according to her he was the one who snored), then slung the bow across his chest and jogged into the forest to find the arrow. He wasn't really using his senses to locate any living beings, though logically in an unfamiliar place he should have. He stopped jogging when he entered the woods, walking quietly through it and trying to guess the location the arrow could have been shot to. He stopped, tilting his head when he heard singing. Slowly, he moved forward until the singer was in sight, then he stopped again and stared at her in utter confusion.

Lorelei
Her singing died back to humming as she stopped in front of a shrub. Lori fingered the leaves gently before pushing them aside and reaching in deeper. When she withdrew her hand, several berries were nestled in her palm. Lori picked one up and popped it into her mouth, chewing it thoughtfully. She nodded, turned, and then froze. Unfamiliar eyes stared at her. Lori studied the person curiously. They didn't seem to be a threat. She turned and walked back to the tree with the foreign, smooth "branch."

Shane
Shane eyed her cautiously, then made his way to the arrow, grabbing it and pulling it out with surprising ease. He looked at the female, backing away from the tree a few steps. "Who are you?"

Lorelei
She looked at the arrow with fascination and then at Shane when he spoke. "Lori," she replied simply. Lori probed the gash left in the tree with her free hand, the other still clutching berries. "It's hurt," she commented, looking over at Shane - well, the arrow, really. Lori grabbed the boy's hand and pressed it against the bark. "Feel it?" She didn't wait for a reply before letting go and studying the berries she was holding, selecting one from the multitude. Lori pressed it between her fingers and pushed the pulp into the gash of the tree. She repeated this with the rest of the berries, leaving her hands stained red.

Shane
Shane was a little shocked by all of her actions, which just resulted in him staring between the girl and the tree. After a moment, he shook his head and sighed. "I don't think berries are gonna solve a tree's problem, sweetheart," he said quietly, examining the tree.

Lorelei
She smiled and shook her head. "It's a gift for the doperfets. They'll come and make it better." Lori glanced at her hands, stained by the berries, and bent to wipe them on a small cropping of grass. Having got the stickiness off, though not the tint, she straightened.

Shane
Shane bit his lip, raising an eyebrow and nodding his head. "Um, yeah. What exactly is this place, if you don't mind me asking?"

"The woods, silly," Lori said with a small giggle. She took a step away from the tree. "We'll scare away the doperfets if we stay." With that, the girl turned and started walking toward the end of the forest.

Shane
"Oh, excuse me for being so daft," Shane grumbled, trudging after Lori. "I mean this place as a whole. It's obviously not New York, in fact I doubt it's even earth in general." After a moment, he sped up just enough to get in front of her, blocking her from going any further. "And what the heck are doperfets?"

Lorelei
She stopped, a slightly puzzled expression on her face. "I don't understand." Lori had never heard of an 'earth' or 'New York,' and she didn't know what he was trying to ask. He was strange. When he asked about doperfets, however, her confusion was replaced by her signature whimsy smile. "They're nice and heal trees. But they're shy." Lori glanced to the side and walked over to a tree. "See? A doperfet is helping this one." She pointed to an almost healed mark on the small oak-like tree.
