Jade
"Probably not." Jade rifled through her bag for a moment before producing a tin of mints, almost empty. She opened it and took out a mint, offering it to Alex. "Here. I'm going to head back outside, so when you get up you can just come out and eat. Don't go back to sleep or I'm dumping water on you." Jade would just stay in the cabin with Alex, but she wasn't sure if there were any zombies nearby and she would rather not leave Bryan out there alone.

Outlaw
"Tryin to survive" she muttered to the panther, who leaped down from the tree to stand next to her. She never tried to survive, yet somehow she did. She watched the kid come nearer on his mare, her face blank and cold to any emotions.

Empire
The horse whinnied then went into a frantic dance of multiple bucks, continuing to run and kick at nothing around the pen.

Charity
Charity looked over at Ahanu quietly, thinking about something that was far-off and hard to really grasp, but she wanted to at least try. When she gave up on that thought, she huffed quietly at herself. "Did you enjoy riding?" she asked Ahanu softly, her voice quiet but still audible in the lingering silence.

She spun back to the horse, sending a wave of calm to Empire. "Easy my lad" she crooned gently, her voice almost unbelievably so after the harsh tone she'd held with the stranger.

Ryan
"Is that your horse?," he asked the girl conversationally, shifting his gaze to focus on the large stallion in the pen.

Bryan
Bryan had already finished filling in several pages of the book and moved on to another, the familiar and oddly comforting smell of pen ink filling his nose for a split second as he turned the page. He began writing once again, each penstroke done with deliberate intent.

She turned back to the stranger. "Hmm, you could say that I spose" she agreed. "Who are ye anyways?" She added, peering at him suspiciously from under her hat brim.

Ryan
"Zachary Fairchild," he replied evenly, the response as familiar and practiced to him as his own name was. After all, it was the name that he'd been using for the last... fifteen years? Yes, fifteen whole years had passed since he'd fled Cyan Groves and left his old life far behind. And what did it cost?, his brain asked him; he pushed its mocking voice away and refused to provide it with an answer. No.

She studied him thoughtfully. He was thinking back on something she could tell. "Zachary Fairchild.. Zachary's too long to say. Can I just call ya Zach or something?"

Ahanu
Ahanu thought for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah. I was kind of terrified the whole time, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."

Charity
Charity smiled. “They can be pretty great animals. They can also be the devil himself but we won’t talk about that.”

She gingerly removed her hat, applying pressure where it was still bleeding from the axe. She replaced her hat after a minute with a grumble. How lovely. She thought grumpily while waiting for the boy's answer.

"Sure. Most do," he replied, leaning forward slightly in the saddle and narrowing his eyes to get a better look at the girl's head. "Are you bleeding?" That's not good. Better hope she has some sort of medical supplies.

Ahanu
Ahanu hoped the owner of the horses was out there still, trying to survive. He didn't like to think about all the people in the town who had died already. Why had any of this even happened? "I wonder what the rats will think of the horses," Ahanu mused, having stopped his thoughts from falling down a path he didn't want to follow.

"No it's hotsauce" she replied sarcastically. She shot him a crooked grin after the snark comment.

"Oh. Isn't that just excellent?," he mused sarcastically under his breath, blinking his eyes heavily to shove aside his confusion as he sat back in the saddle. "Do you have any kind of first-aid kit?," he asked, pulling back on his mare's reins gently as she attempted to walk closer to the pen to greet the other horse.
