Katie
Katie laughed, surprising even herself as Cinch fed off of the other young horses' need to run, leaving her to snatch at his reins with her bad hand with a barely concealed wince, slowing him down until she could almost comfortably ride again. "Undecided, as of yet. Just anywhere, really."

Chester
"Why out of here? Don't you love the friendly, welcoming townsfolk and wonderful array of things to do?" he asked, his sarcasm returning. His bay steed stopped suddenly, leaning down to scratch his leg before catching up with Cinch.

"Sorry, Taane really just isn't doing it for me at the moment." Not to mention that I'd rather be somewhere where I WON'T get shot tending to an already bullet wound. She snickered, rolling said shoulder experimentally and- yeah, ouch, that was still a problem. A big one. Ouch.

"Ah, a shame," he responded absentmindedly, glancing over at the girl in concern.
"Hey, don't die on me. I don't need to get accused of another murder."

Katie
Katie scoffed again, rolling her eyes. "Noones dying, Chess. It's just a flesh wound." If you're worried now, you should have seen how bad I was after The Felt were done with me.

Outlaw
She went into the thick stand of trees on the edge of town, and collected some dry sticks. She tossed down the papers and pictures, and placed the sticks over them, then crouched beside the small pile while she found her matches. She struck a match and carefully held it to the paper until it was burning then dropped it and stood back up, tucking the matches back into her cloak. She watched it burn with a slight grin.

"Definitely," he responded bitterly under his breath. Someone slammed a door nearby, causing Gunsmoke to spook. The young horse took off, dragging Pickaxe along behind him. The older horse had hesitated at first, but when the horse who is attached to you decides to bolt, there's not much one can do. Chess eventually managed to pull them both to a stop, though not after he'd made a fool of himself in front of Katie.
"Worthless animal," he growled, glaring daggers at the pinto as he wrapped the colt's reins around his saddle horn even tighter than they already had been, giving the horse less room to move his head.

"Shh." She scolded him, albeit probably more playful then scornful if the little smirk on her face meant anything. "He's only a baby. Cinch used to be like that too, y'know. Spooking at any little thing." The rest of her story made an appearance whether she liked it or not. "Once, he dumped me and took off on in the middle of a heist in front of the rest of my group and I had to walk until someone doubled me." She snickered, remember how she couldn't have helped but laugh along as Kander had snagged her arm riding past, dragging her for the few steps until she could throw herself up onto Vic's back. Where has this sudden reassurance come from?

Chess scoffed, muttering incomprehensible things under his breath before he finally responded to her.
"Well he'll have to learn quick that he can't do stuff like that. I can't afford to have a green horse of my hands in a time like this."

Katie rolled her eyes, glancing over her shoulder. "If it bothers you that much, I'll swap you Khal."

"That horse looks like a twig, Katie. I need a hardy horse. But... I'll think about it."
He discreetly looked behind them, making sure that no one was following - just in case, of course.

"While you're right, I'm sure Khal doesn't appreciate it." She laughed, shrugging her shoulder to help pull her jacket back over it - she would rather not have a blood trail, thank you very much.

He furrowed his brow, staring at her arm for a moment before returning his gaze to what was in front of him.
"You know, you should probably stop soon. You're gonna lose so much blood that you fall off your horse, and I'm leaving you to fend for yourself if that happens."

"I don't need to stop." She snapped, because she had once ridden an entire three days with a gaping hole in her stomach, and she hadn't fallen then so she damn well wasn't going to fall now.

"Do you want to die?" he asked in response, raising an eyebrow at her. Her tone didn't scare him at all - he had dealt with too many things to be scared of a fussy ally - but the situation did. He was secretly terrified of everything that he'd gotten himself into, of the fact that he was on the run, of the fact that he had done all of this to himself. Just because he blamed his father didn't mean that he wasn't mad at himself for choosing to take action. And if Katie died, who would be to blame?
