Theresa
Theresa had opted to stay home rather than the go to the hospital with William. She still didn't know Emma very well, and didn't want to clutter up her room. Instead, Theresa was bustling across the farm, Georgie at her heels, as she was scooping up manure and feeding ponies, exactly as William told her how. She noticed Birdie was standing by herself, looking dejected.
"Go visit the mares!" She called over to Birdie. Birdie lifted her head momentarily, almost looking like she understood Theresa.

Birdie
Birdie was just standing in the corner of the paddock. She didn't know what she should do, whether she should meet the mares or not. As the wind picked up, Birdie became filled with more adrenaline.
"This place is boring." She muttered to herself.
She picked up a canter and began to canter and buck to entertain herself. As the wind picked up, Birdie was filled with more adrenaline and broke into a gallop. She raced along her side of the pasture, until she realized the fence was directly in front of her. Too late to change her course, Birdie focused on the fence and jumped right over it, landing perfectly on the other side. She slowed down and began to eat the grass, which truly was greener on the other side, in her opinion.

Fay
Fay looked over at the new mare that morning. "I wish I had the strength to gallop right now," she said sighing. Fay and Monica stayed close to each other that night. Monica reassured that she'll have her strength back soon. "I haven't been so nice to the new mare, I guess I should go-"Fay paused as she saw the new horse jump the fence. "Escaping her stall, and now jumping the fence?" Fay said.
"Didn't you jump the fence once too?" said Monica with a smirk on her face.
"Well yes I did, but only because of Trucker." said Fay who looked away and blushed. Though she did miss him, and he's always out training. Fay walked slowly walked over to the fence where the new horse had jumped. "That would be the stallion pasture your in. Just don't get caught." Fay said turning around as she started to walk away to greet Monica who just finished with the vet.

Monica
Shortly after the vet arrived, and a groom grabbed Monica from the pasture. The groom removed the cooler, which had some blood on it. The groom told the vet everything they knew, and the vet checked the wounds. A couple needed stitching, but the others should heal up on their own just fine.

William
"Take it easy. You were knocked unconscious, and had a concussion." he said tired from the night before. A couple hours later, and Emma was released from the hospital. Although, she had a ton of medication to take with her. The two headed back to the ranch, and Emma slowly got out the truck once they arrived.

Emma
When Emma got out of the truck, she looked out at the woods when she got flashes of the accident. She shivered then came back to it. William asked if she was alright, even though she wasn't, but she said yes. Emma saw Monica being checked out with the vet when they walked over. "Hey girl," she said softly as she looked into the eyes of the mare,"It's alright girl. It's not your fault, it's mine." she said as Monica sniffed the cast which was held in a sling. After a bit of watching some of the horses, Emma just had to do something. She couldn't just stand around and do nothing, so she started to do some chores. Emma walked to the barn, and started mucking a few stalls with one arm.

Trucker

He'd been lunged around the round pen, his head touching the red sand as he trotted around endlessy throwing in a few kicks and bucks here and there to get out his energy since he was feeling like every stallion would. Trucker halted, and did a rollback as his groom had to lunge him today considering Dupont was out at this very moment. He'd lift his tail a little bit, snorting at every pressure his joints hit the ground. He'd halt as the groom stepped forward, putting his white rope halter on and leading him out. Trucker was sweating on his chest, and somewhat around his flank.

"A show is currently around two weeks away. " The groom had checked her apple watch which had notes on it, and she put the dates. He'd perk his ears, looking over her shoulder.

Fay
Fay watched Trucker from the pasture. Oh how she missed him. The mare hadn't seen him in what felt like forever which was only about a week or so. Though, he was always training. Instead, she just waited by the fence and grazed. She hoped he would finish soon, so they can catch up. Monica and Fay still stayed close to each other with all the events that had happened as they both needed each other.

William
William walked into the barn to go see his horse when he saw Emma. "You should be resting." he said stopping at the stall in which she was currently mucking out. "Let me handle this. Just get some rest." he said. William walked in to the stall to take over for Emma.

Emma
"I'm fine William. I can't just stand around and do nothing." she said being stubborn as she could be every now and then. Emma just didn't want to feel helpless, and she just had to do something to pass the time. "Whatever happened, happened. It's in the past, and I can still do some chores." she said.

William
"Emma. You fell off Monica, and blacked out. You broke your arm when you fell, and you were almost..." he stopped talking. "Just take it easy OK?"

Theresa
Theresa rounded the corner with a freshly-oiled saddle in her hands. She had had some free time and decided that the tack room should be fully cleaned up, including the tack. She stopped next to Emma and William, sensing the tension.
"Hello, Emma, I didn't expect to see you at the barn so soon," She said cautiously, leaning slightly on the wall.

Birdie
Birdie finally got bored of free-ranging throughout the property and turned back to the original pasture she had jumped out of. She noticed a mare staring at one of the stallions in a nearby pasture. She nickered to the mare, hoping to finally make some friends at her new home, while also not wanting to interrupt the mare.

Emma
Emma looked over at Theresa, "I'm fine alright. I can't just stand around and do nothing. Things need to be done, and I'm not going to let whatever happened last night to keep me from doing what needs to be done." she said walking out of the stall with the pitchfork in her hand. Emma stopped right outside the barn as she placed her hand on her forehead getting a migraine as she saw the teeth of the wolves, their dark eyes, and the sound of their howls. Emma shook her head a bit as she came back to it, and looked at the two mares in the pasture, Fay and Monica. She sighed and slowly walked over to the pasture that the mare's were in. Emma had some bruises and cuts on her body, but that wasn't what was bothering. The fact that she didn't quite know what happened, and something else that she hadn't quite figured out yet. She leaned against the fence watching them for awhile as she gave out a sigh.

Fay
Fay occasionally looked up to see Trucker training as she let out a sigh and went to go take a bite. "You really miss him don't you?" asked Monica as she looked up at Fay.
"Yes..I do..." she said, "But, I'll see him soon enough..." she said with a small smile on her face for only a quick moment. Her ears flicked forward as she saw Emma. The pregnant mare had trotted over as Emma smiled a bit and pat the mare as Monica trotted up as well.
"At least the two of you are alright," she said with a small smile as she pet both of the mares. Though, the mares eventually trotted over to a different part of the pasture as she continued to watch them. Fay grazed alongside Monica as her ears flicked back as the new mare was trying to get her attention. Fay didn't really know what to do at this point, she wasn't herself lately. Maybe it was just the pregnancy that had her a bit different? She wasn't sure, but thought that it was the problem. The mare had just looked up at the new mare unsure of what to do.

Theresa
Theresa watched Emma's disappearing figure for a moment, then turned to William.
"I cleaned all of the tack in the tack room. Is there anything else you'd like me to do before I lunge the new mare---Birdie?" She asked as she shifted the weight of the saddle in her arms slightly.

Birdie
"Hello," Birdie said, shaking her mane confidently. She stopped next to the two mares and extended her nose slightly. "I'm Birdie, and I guess I'm supposed to live with you two now? What are your names?" She added, nickering.

William
William watched Emma storm off and sighed, "Thanks that helps a lot. If there is anything, I'll let you know. I hope the two of you are getting along well?" he said trying to keep from thinking about Emma. William was there for Emma when her parents had gotten in a terrible car accident. Her mother didn't make it, but her father luckily did. Though, William was always there for her like a big brother in a way. William just hated to see her like this. He glanced outside the barn to see Emma with the mares.

Emma
Emma sighed and turned around glancing over at William before going to the ranch house to go up to her room. She sighed and looked out of the window for a minute before sitting on her bed. She grabbed some of her medication, and took 1 pill just as she was directed. Emma glanced over at the picture she had of her mother, and grabbed it. "I messed up again mom...what am I supposed to do? I-I don't even know what happened to me..." she said tearing up as a tear fell onto the framed photo.

Fay
"It appears to be so..." said Fay as she raised her head and looked at Monica. In the background, Fay noticed Emma heading to the ranch house. She missed going on rides, but it wouldn't be another year until Emma can ride Fay again. Though, the mare was still unsure about the foal, the delivery, and if she'd be a good mother. Fay was only 3, and sometimes she had to remind herself that she was a mare...carrying a foal. Fay sighed and looked at the new mare before turning around and walking away.

Monica
Monica hadn't gotten to meet this new mare, and she was a bit excited to have someone new around. Though, she was usually shy, but this time she wasn't. She looked at Fay who walked off as she gave a sigh and turned her attention back to the other mare, "I'm sorry about...Fay. She just recovered from a disease, and she's about 3 months along...." she said before putting a smile on her face, "I'm Monica, and it's nice to have someone new around here....after all that has happened recently..." she said with a small sigh. Monica had also seen Emma walk off, and even though Emma said it wasn't her fault, she still felt as though it was.

Theresa
Theresa quickly nodded her head. "Oh yes, definitely. Everyone here is so welcoming and friendly, I really like this operation you run. I feel like I'm finally recovering from my accident, in more ways than one." Theresa glanced at where William was looking, Emma with the mares. "Yes, I really enjoy it here." She repeated decidedly as she readjusted the saddle in her arms.

Birdie
Birdie pricked her ears slightly. "What has happened? If you don't mind me asking?" She wondered whether that was why all the horses seemed so indifferent. Birdie was suddenly filled with longing for her old home, for her old herd-mates, and everything that she knew and was familiar with. Ever since she had moved, Birdie felt out of place, like she didn't quite belong with any of the horses at this ranch.

William
William smiled bringing his attention back to Theresa, "That's great to hear although the trouble we've been having lately. With the events of last night, and us being a bit shorthanded...we're struggling a bit. Winter is coming and we haven't prepared at all," he said looking out at the mare pasture noticing Emma was gone, "I need to be doing vet checks on the expecting mares in about a month or so especially Fay since she just recovered." He looked over at Theresa, "I hope you can help with all that needs to be done?" he asked not wanted to bombard the newcomer with everything.

Monica
Monica shivered a bit at the question remembering what happened the night before, "There's just been a lot going on around here lately...Last night...Emma took me on a trail ride up in the woods. Everything was going well, but it started to get too dark so we turned around. Shortly after...and I could sense something was wrong. Next thing I knew I had a wolf jump up on me from behind..." she said pausing shaking the feeling off, "I bucked causing both the wolf and Emma to fall off. She was knocked out cold while I just ran away leaving her there..." she said turning slightly showing the cuts from the night before. Some were stitched up others weren't, but she sighed. "It's all my fault it happened. Now she's too scared to ride."

Emma
Emma put down the framed picture and looked out her window watching Fay graze away from the others while Monica was socializing. She sighed looking over at her wall of accomplishments including some trophies and ribbons, belt buckles, and some tack she had in her room. Emma got up and walked over picking up another framed picture. This one included her, Monica, and Fay. She was holding their lead ropes as one was one each side of her. Emma gave a small smile before putting the photo down and roughly running her fingers over her ribbons, belt buckles, and a saddle she won. She put her hand to her forehead as she got yet another migraine. Though, she was getting flashbacks of the accident. She could hear the growling of the wolves, she could see the teeth of them and their blood red eyes as she shivered and had to sit down.
