Breeding Impatience

#37134 Posted on 2016-05-08 22:22:39

Anyone else get impatient waiting on their ponies to be born? I've just bred my 10 pairs, first since the recode opened, and breeding day is always my favorite day because the new little ponies are so exciting. I love the gestation period but I'm definitely an instant gratification type so I'm just like "SURELY I BRED THEM TWO YEARS AGO" but it's actually been two days. I only have about 2 more to wait though eeee!! Hoping for some great colors!

Who else is waiting on ponies and can share in my pain?

Im always impatient to see the next generation but I am usually quite good at resisting the temptation of breeding early.... Its a struggle but I manage it. Just!

I'm glad I resisted the temptation to breed early (thankfully I brought these guys over from the recode and they were already 18, so I had a whole two weeks to wait..lol) because I want the most stats possible, but I thought about it! I had to purposely spread out buying my foundations so that I would have horses to breed every few weeks. 20 weeks (longer usually because I tend to lock a few times) is TOO LONG for me!

As soon as these guys come I'm just going to be impatient until I can breed the next herd. In 12 weeks. :(

i almost always give into temptation - but usually i give in with "spare" horses or with alternate pairings than the foals i plan on keeping.

fortunately, i have some pretty appaloosas and mustangs that i can essentially breed constantly so i always have foals on the way!

i did just breed my first half of my foundation line two days ago though, so I'm super impatiently waiting for them to be born. then i'll lock all the foals up and wait impatiently for the 4 year old line i have to be 20 D:

I'm terrible about wanting to breed early and/or need instant gratifcation on what my foals are gonna look like or be like - stats wise. I have a Paint mare I'm breeding tomorrow and I have a couple of Clydes that are due in a few days, though, I did breed those two earlier than what I normally did. I'm impatient and want some babies, NOW or at least ASAP. lol

Aah, waiting is the worst... :D But I actually even like waiting for the foal, in the old EV you got the foal right after breeding and it wasn't that exciting as it is now. I also love working with the genotypes before breeding so I can see the possibilities of the new foal's coat. The best thing. xx
