Planet Zoo / Red Dead Online?

I used to love Zoo Tycoon, this makes me miss it/now I want to play Planet Zoo :D

Maple, you make my zoo's look like peasant zoos. Your screenshots are amazing! I quickly put over 100 hours in the game when it launched, but it's had to take a back seat to work and and certification courses. I can't wait to have more free time to get back into it! I hated it at first, because like you said, no experience with Planet Coaster, but once I got the hang of the controls, I got addicted. I love it now. Only thing I can't figure out is the dang education! HOW?!

Tagging onto this post vs making a new one. I had to stop with Lefko zoo as the terrain was broken/corrupted on it for some reason and I wasn't happy with how it was turning out- I've also learnt a lot of new skills since starting it so I've decided to redo it once I get some more ideas for it. I did turn my hand to making a woodland park with backstage areas and native walks that was going really well until the save corrupted and no amount of attempts to fix it have made it openable :c 

So I decided to start a new one (again), only this time to presculpt the zoo's layout. I've been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption (II) again, and have finally gotten round to playing in online mode. So I was feeling pretty inspired to do big mountain ranges for my newest zoo, and potentially divide it into the general themes of RDR (New Austin/Heartlands/Leymone) since I won't have enough animals to fill in for a North American Reserve like I was originally doing. I'm also thinking about uploading the finished terrain map if people are interested in a non-flat map to start with. 

Also happy to join anyone in RDO (PC) if anyone plays >> 

New RDO player here, would be very happy to play together with basically anyone. I'm so scared of players alone lol

It's not as bad (that I've found) that people have claimed it to be in reviews. The only griefers I've had are posses taking over towns and the occasional explosion from hackers lol and that's only a handful of times. 

I haven't played Planet Zoo yet but I want to and I have played Red Dead a lot. 

I love Red Dead; I'm currently playing through it again but have never played online. I'm on Xbox One. If anyone wants to add me just let me know. :)

I bought Planet Zoo but have hardly played it... not sure if it's my laptop or what but it's terribly laggy for me. I was so sad because I spent years playing the Zoo Tycoon games so I thought this would be great. Maybe I should try it on my old brick of a laptop haha

Shame there’s no cross platform play for Red Dead. :c

As for PZ being laggy though, it’s a very cpu intensive game so it sounds like you might not be meeting the minimum specifications for it, or need to turn your graphics settings down. Some of the tutorial zoos can be laggy since they’re prebuilt with thousands of pieces, even my gaming pc struggles to load into them without glitching. 

ah I'm happy to see other people that love to play RDR2! I just started playing story mode about 3 months ago? And finally completed the epilogue last weekend! That was a wild ride, but RDR has easily become my favorite game now! I can't get over how pretty it is and how good the horses are :P. I already have it on PS4, but I ended up buying it again on PC during Steam sale last week because I liked it so much.

I haven't played RDO yet because I've heard so many horror stories about griefers and hackers, and I don't really have anyone to play online with. I'm a little too shy to get on by myself. It sounds really fun though if you have a posse!

That's exactly why I bought it on pc as well as the ps4, I have two playthroughs on the ps but I can play it more often (and not have to play a ps subscription just to play online) on the pc. 

Honestly since my last post I've been griefed like twice, one where a player was camping out in Valentine and shooting everyone that came in (I just wanted the butcher) and another who joined my posse as part of a daily then just decided to grief everyone in it for some reason. I've also seen a couple hackers but changing sessions will get you away from them quickly enough. I'd heard lots of horror stories from other people before playing but it's really not so bad now, at least I'll not have any problems with other players in the 6-10 hours I'll usually play for a daily, and there's new systems in place so if you are being griefed you can parlay and they can't kill you for 5-10 minutes I think.  The worst part is the disconnects really. 

More than happy to play with you if you want though it's not so bad on your own, all of my online play through has been on my own so far since people who wanted to play with me have been unable to due to the disconnects, which apparently depends on the upload speed or something since the servers are peer hosting which suucks. You'll not struggle to do the story missions though (most of the time) since a lot of people will redo them. 

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who bought it twice lol! And yep, I did the same thing about the PS4 subscription. I was thinking, "It would save more money just to buy on PC and not have to cough up like $40 for a yearly pass". Plus PC graphics are prettier, there's better framerate, and mods!! I can't wait until we get more horse patterns/colors/breeds and more stable space. Those are the sole two mods I want to see!

Ah yeah, I heard about the disconnects a lot :/ and a lack of online content too. I wish they'd implement an option to create private servers to cut out on some of the hackers/griefers. I doubt that'll come around anytime soon though, and may never happen.

Ok! And dang, that does suck it is peer hosting... sometimes my laptop just decides to just lag wifi so I might be one of those people that gets disconnected often smh. If I have time I'll try and make a RDO profile over the weekend and let you know :)

well! I finally made a character and started playing online and got griefed about two hours into gameplay 🤪🤪. I was actually having fun because it gives me a break from story missions and playing as Arthur/John (I wanted to play as a lady for once haha), but ew just what the guy (griefer) did to my character was messed up. And I couldn't get away from him fast enough so I just quit the session for now and will log back in after dinner. Luckily I broke free and got to land a few punches in, but could never really get away. Lame. He just attacked me out of nowhere so I never saw him coming smh. Lowkey irritated, but won't stop me from sometimes playing Online (it's a bit grindy for me?)
