Louis
"Oh, sorry, I was talking to Aerow. It's a nickname." Louis leaned against the wall, looking at Aerow. "'Weird kid'? Very professional. What's the deal with trying to get me promoted?"

Aerow
Aerow laughed. "Aurora knew you were talking to me. And she's right- I could technically get you beheaded." She shrugged, then looked over at Aurora. "Uh- yeah, don't mention his bad additude. I don't exactly want him killed yet. Anyways-" she turned her attention back to Louis. "You're already promoted- three out of four dimensions have approved so the most honored king and queen, with all do respect, can't really change anything."

Louis
"What am I being promoted to? Also, just, you know, why? Fay's been here longer and is better at the whole darkness thing, and apparently I have a 'bad attitude.'"

Aurora
"Well, you don't really get a say in the matter. Sort of like how Aerow got pulled out of reality and was forced to become the void without her consent." She tapped a pencil against her chin thoughtfully. "But either way, you're now a leader under Aerow."

Louis
"I'm aware I don't have a choice. That doesn't answer 'why,' though."

Aerow
"We can talk about that later," Aerow muttered, glancing at the floor. "And you do have a choice- if you don't want to, I'll let you off." She shrugged again, her eyes trailing the ground, shame and regret etching them ever so slightly.

Louis
"I'll think about it." Louis turned to Aurora. "What all situations do you need to examine?"

Aurora
"Uh, well, I've examined most of them. The last one I don't really need to examine right now." She looked up at Louis and smiled again, standing up. "And being a leader isn't all that scary. You can be a little snarky and get away with it."

Harper
Harper stumbled back to her room, sitting down on the bed while trying not to freak out.

Louis
He shrugged. Being a leader wasn't foreign to him. "Okay."

Silvestre
He ended up in an area of bustling activity. His hand drifted to his wrist and he fidgeted with his bracelet while he walked through the crowd. He stopped at one spot, talked briefly to the guy, and walked away with an item in his palm. Silvestre finally wound up in front of a booth with a painted apple on a battered blue flag. "Hey, Anna!" he called to the young woman working there. She smiled upon seeing him. "Silvestre. What do you need today?" "A sandwich, please. Oh, also a jug of apple juice, a variety of fruit, a loaf of bread, and a dozen eggs." Anna blinked, surprised. "That's more than usual." "Yeah, sorry. I brought this to compensate." Silvestre offered her the item he'd gotten earlier. It was just one little square of pigment, but it made Anna's face light up. "Is that watercolor?" Silvestre nodded. She took it reverently and went about getting him what he asked for, tucking most of it into an old leather satchel that she handed over to him. The sandwich was kept out, and Silvestre accepted both with a short "thanks." The satchel was his, but he usually kept it with Anna. She was nice, like an aunt or older sister. He waved and started walking again, biting into the sandwich and humming happily.

Aurora
Aurora flicked away the pencil and paper she had been writing on, clearing her throat again. "You should try convincing Aerow to let some of our elves make it snow here. It's so dry." She smiled again and bowed to both of them, then disappeared into the air.

Mason
The amount of banging, shouting, and general noise that had seemed to light the room ablaze would have surely woken anyone, sans those on their deathbed. How interesting was it, then, that Mason remained completely unaware of anything going on around him.

Louis
He folded his arms across his chest. “Look, I don’t know why you’re getting me promoted. I just feel it’s a poor choice. I’m not leader material, and Fay seems a much more likely option. And if not her, surely there’s someone else in this place that would do a better job than me. I appreciate the vote of confidence and all, but I don’t get it.” Louis paused, studying the air where Aurora had been moments prior. “Aerow got pulled out of reality and was forced to become the void.” Now didn’t seem the appropriate time to inquire about her tragic backstory, so he stored that information for a later conversation. “And you didn’t say anything to me about this. Next time, at least give me a heads up.”

Silvestre
He stopped by the house briefly, opening the door and setting his satchel right inside. “I got groceries. You’re welcome.” He didn’t wait to see if anybody heard him, closing the door and continuing on his way down the street. Silvestre reached the outskirts of town and wandered aimlessly. “Again with the very vague directions,” he grumbled to himself.

Aerow
She didn't reply for a while, her mind fixated on an idea. "Fay has proven to have a lack of responsibility, so no- she'd be a terrible leader," Aerow finally muttered, taking a deep breath and looking up at Louis. "And honestly, if I had given you heads up, you probably would have said no. And I'm a little desperate- I don't need people to say no, I just need them to do."

Louis
Louis sighed. “I’m not a good leader, but fine. What all does being promoted mean and what are the responsibilities?” She still hadn’t answered his question of why, and it seemed like she was dodging it intentionally. He wouldn’t push for an answer, at least not yet.

Aerow
"Just be respectful and you'll be fine. That's the only responsibility you get since you're under me." Aerow glanced at the door for a minute. "You really don't have to do anything as of now, but if, or when, you'll have to then I'll explain more then."
