Only The Strong Survive

Auberon
Auberon closed his eyes and let his mind drift off to faded, but still graspable memories. Mostly strawberries and other particular things that made his heart skip more than one beat.

Outlaw 
She finally fell asleep, hand still on her rifle. 

Auberon
Auberon opened his eyes upon hearing Outlaw's breathing becoming calmer and more relaxed. He studdied her, came to the conclusion she was asleep, then got off the bed quietly. He grabbed one more apple, put it in his backpack (of which had some more unimportant junk in it) and let down the ladder. He climbed down it quietly, then flung it to the top. It caught on a tree branch not too far from the entrance- good enough. Auberon nodded then raced off; no point sticking around listening to his mind when he couldn't grasp his past.

Outlaw 
She woke up when he left and went to the entrance, watching him. “What’s wrong with him now” she said grumpily, grabbing extra ammo and letting down the ladder. She trudged quietly after him after throwing the ladder back up, keeping him in sight. 

Auberon
Auberon stopped and looked over his shoulder. "Sorry- wanted something to shoot at," he called, turning around.

Outlaw 
“Well then wait. Enough zombies go past the Fort” she grumbled. 

Auberon
Auberon gave a I dont care look, then crossed his arms and looked over the landscape.

Outlaw 
She gave a huff of annoyance. “I’m going back to sleep. If you get converted you can’t come after me cause I warned you” she said then turned and started back to the fort. 

Auberon
"If I get converted? Heck, what does that mean?" Auberon called. That could've meant more than one thing with him in particular- he wanted to know which one.

Outlaw 
“Turned into a zombie” she called back, drawing her pistol and shooting down five that appeared. 

Auberon
"Oh... ya no- that won't happen," Auberon called, shooting a zombie he saw. 

Outlaw 
“That’s what they all say” she called back as she kept on going. 

Auberon
"All? Really- all? I'm sure there's a cure," Auberon said. He shrugged and turned around, starting to walk to who know where.

Outlaw 
“You ain’t back at the Fort in an hour I’m comin after you and dragging you back” she called.

Auberon
"Yes ma'am," Auberon replied with a smirk (and to show off, in his Texan accent). "I'll be back for dinner."
