Hey club members I am looking for your help in making our club great again. I'm talking about needing your help in boosting club spirit. I need help in deciding what kind of games to play, what kind of contest to run ya know things of that nature. So from now until the 23rd I am asking anyone with an idea to let me know. Weather it be a game or contest or maybe you have an idea on how to improve the club LET ME KNOW. All club members that respond to this post will be entered into a drawing to win a EVD prize. This is your club, let's make it work for you!!!!

I don't know if I'm going to get hate from this or not but... The Gypsy Vanner club just had a brainstorming session in their forum thread for this month on the second send last and last pages of the thread. If you wanted to read it for inspiration since I'm too lazy to repeat all the ideas here.

I'm hoping that could help.

I'm not big in the QH club and am raising my only QH right now so have enough stats to be entered into the club... so consider me the extreme minority in this club lol I do plan on getting a few more QHs once I figure out what I want to do with them ^_^

Hopefully this helps

Game:
--Guess the foal color/pattern {I can explain further my ideas for this if there is interest}

Recognition:
-- top show horse/s of the month both money and points.
-- Vote on prettiest horse.
--  Maybe a forum post, just for people to 'brag' about new foals or horses, or just to talk about things in their breeding/showing programs that they are excited about.

Club Ideas:
-- I dont know if this has to be done by and admin but a "Brood Mare registry"
-- I know that not everyone will agree on this next one..  stricter registration requirements.... My thoughts behind this... if its harder to resister a horse then horses that are will thus be in higher demand, kind of like a status symbol. this could help with the very poor QH market we have, It could lead to us all striving to breed and train at a higher level, and might also make horses that are registered worth more.... just a small thought.

Cheers.
-BEL

I agree with BlueEyedLuv on the stricter registration policy. It will make the horses that are registered more valuable and it will make players try harder to raise their horses quality.

Contests

  • Club Card Contest- For member who want to enter they could design a Club Card that could be posted on members pages and on the club home page.

  • Foundation Training Contest- The Appaloosa Club just started a foundation training contest that seems to have a lot of interest. It may be a good way to get new members and to increase quality foundation Quarter Horses.

  • Stat Training Contest- This one would be a shorter contest than the Foundation training. It could take place over a single month. The contest would be based off of the number of stats the horse gained in the months time. There should be restrictions on the types of treats used.

Other Ideas

  • Maybe a Quarter Horse Club tag for Deluxe members to use on their accounts.

  • Special events for only club members.

  • Discounted stud/broodmare fees for fellow club members.

  • Maybe some kind of quality breeding incentive. Foals born with a certain number of stats and up could be eligible for a discounted registration or entered into a drawing for the best foal born that month.

currently I only own one QH so for me a foundation raising contest similar to the one that the Appaloosa club are holding would be ideal for me, but that is just me.

Honestly though, I like participating in any contests, even the drawing ones.

Definitely agree with BEL regarding broodmare registry, that helps ALOT when looking for potential broodmares.

I rather enjoyed the raise a foundation contest, would love to do that again. Or a good old fashioned raise - a - rescue.

We could even do something for the golden oldies. This would be more a contest for established breeders but it could give the new breeders something to "work towards". Every so often we could, for example, give a little competition to the retired stars. For example, highest stats, highest conformation and prettiest oldy. The winners could either get a small EVD prize or just be featured on the page with a  little trophy, you know? Almost something in the line of the Hall of Fame.

Could even allow the top 3 or top 5 QH's in Hall of Fame to get special recognition within the club. Either featuring on the page, or the group letter or some kind of prize.
