A lonesome silence had filled the air along with the growing warmth of the sun. The area seemed abandoned, but only a fool can truly believe the absence of other beings, the scents were all around. But he was new to these parts, his large paws used to the rocky, harsh grounds of the mountains. His thick coat used to the winter weather. His pelt gleamed a silvery white color, though his paws had grown brown from his travels. A light blue eye and a dark brown eye scanned the scene of what seemed to be a peaceful, not yet disturbed lake. He knew better than to become vulnerable and lower himself to drink from the unfamiliar water source, but he had no choice. His body was showing signs of dehydration. Giving in, he looked around, tail flicking upwards as he lowered his head to the sparkling liquid.

River Falls smiled and slowly walked to the bank again. She finished the half eaten fish Crow had started as she passed it. Turning her attention upon the water, she watched the fish in their mesmerizing movements before diving her head in. She came forth spluttering but proud, a fish in her jaws. This one has given a fight and kept her under a bit longer. She took a few steps away and placed the fish on the ground. The start of what she hoped would turn into a pile of fish. And placed far enough from the shore that the couldn't flop back in.

The refreshing water soothed his once upset insides, his once dry tongue salivated with delight. Though, as he enjoyed his first drink in what seemed like forever, he noticed a scent.. a new scent. He raised his head, water dripping from his muzzle as he scanned the area once more. His left brown eye caught the sights of another animal and he froze, watching for a moment. What is he to do? He can't fight now... he's far too weak. The she-wolf was by a river that connected and flowed into his now beloved pond... still a bit far from where he was but he is able to be spotted. He spotted trailing behind her was another wolf, being much bigger than the female, he guessed was a male. He silently cursed at himself for allowing his guard down and letting this happen. He was fixated on the scene though, watching her catch... fish. Quite odd, he thought, but it wasn't like he never saw such a thing before.

River again caught a fish, adding it to her growing pile. She grinned, glancing at the forest. Crow wasn't back yet. Would he have a rabbit? She smiled. Fish was so much easier to catch. She sat back, contented, stopping at four fish. She didn't want to catch them all. Two for each of them, and maybe Crow could have her second if she wasn't too hungry. She sniffed the air, hoping to catch his scent. The breeze flowed toward her, and she smelled nothing. She shook out her blue fur as she stood and stretched. A yawn caressed her mouth as she cast a glance around.

Crow was deep in the forest, he had caught a rabbits scent and was now approaching the poor rabbit, as he was about to attack it his thoughts went to River and wondered if she caught any fish by now. He lunged as he chased after the rabbit before latching on to his back and killing it, he managed to catch one other before turning back toward the water, he started sprinting as the water came into view. He saw River by the pile of fish and slowed down as he stopped next to her dropping the two rabbits on the ground next to the fish.

River looked up at Crow. "Success," she teased, prodding his two rabbits. "We'll have full stomachs tonight." She turned her gaze to the four fish. "Plenty to eat." Standing regally, she grabbed two fish and dropped them in front of Crow. "Your fish," she said with a bow, pretending he was a king.

Crow looked over the catch that they had four fish and two rabbits it was going to be a good meal "why thank you my lady here have a rabbit", he said jokingly as he picked a rabbit up and dropped it at her paws. He licked his lips as he bent down to take a bite of the fish.

River Falls looked at the plump rabbit admiringly. Crow was a good hunter, no doubt. She also bent and bit into a fish's gleaming scales. "The scales might take a bit to get used to," she warned Crow over a mouthful of fish. She knew he had already had a bite of one, but that was when they were very hungry. She suppressed a giggle by taking another small bite at the fish before her. In a few more, it was gone, along with the rabbit. She leaned back, full. "You have my other fish, Crow. By the way, the rabbit was amazing."

Crow was chewing as she mentioned the scales " wait there's scales on these, I didn't even notice" as he said this he realized that it did feel a little rough as he swallowed it. But he finished the two fish anyway before going on to the rabbit which he savored the taste it was good and warm, once he finished it he started eating the third one " mmm thanks River its really good, your really are great at fishing" he soon fished his food and licked his lips after.

River bobbed her head, blushing. When she looked back up she said, "Thanks. You're really good at hunting." She looked at the forest floor a moment then looked up again. "I lived by a river with a waterfall, which is where I got my name from... partly." A twinkle gleamed in her eye. "I would always try to go fishing and would always fall into the river. My mother laughed and said that I really was River Falls." River looked at the treetops. "That was before my mother became strict."

Crow wagged his tail at the compliment " well you don't fall anymore sadly because I would have loved to see that", he laughed at the thought of River falling in water to catch a fish. "why did your mother become strict" he hadn't really known his mother very long since she had been killed before he aged to a juvenile.

River laughed at Crow's comment about her falling in. When he asked about her mother, she looked away. "My father died. It took all the joy out of her and she became like the rest of the pack. She had been different. More happy. But his death crushed her heart." She blinked tears away. "I don't remember my father."

Crow moved closer to her side " its ok, I don't even think I met my father and as for my mother she died before I was even a juvenile so don't feel sad about it".He slightly wrapped his tail around her to try and comfort her, "we should try and find some shelter before it gets any darker" he looked up at the sky the sun was now starting to set.
