Lynch gulped nodding quickly to them as he watched the tv. Nicole looked to Chase and kissed his lips softly as she breathed in his scent smiling "You smell good...like really good" she said kissing him again and then walking back to the kitchen with Chase beside her as she sat down on the counter smiling at him "I feel happy that I just did that!" she said with a grin to Chase.

Talia blinked looking up and smiling "No you didn't Im a bush" she said giggling as she held Hawk close and moved into the bushes further. Hawk squirmed getting out of her grasp and went to the yard just sitting and wagging his little tail.

Chase chuckled. "You shouldn't be." he teased. Then he noticed the StarBucks bag on the counter. "Are these for later?" he asked.


"As you wish. But its watering time my dear." he replied casually grabbing the hose. Just then he felt his phone vibrate incessantly. He recognized the text as from a blocked number that he must have forgotten to transfer once he had changed phones. "Talia, I need to run into town." he told her, in a half distracted yet serious tone.

Nicole nodded "You can have it now if you want its your favorite drink with a cookie.." she said giving him another peck on the lips and smiling as she crossed her legs and stared at the floor. Lynch walked into the kitchen grabbing the coffee his and the cookie for him as he sat on the chair looking at his sister "I think mom would disapprove of you not sitting on a chair.." he smirked. Nicole glared at him "Is this my house? I Can do whatever i want!" she said glaring at him and turning away.

Talia nodded and scooped both pups into her arms as she walked inside wondering who the text was from. Setting the pups down she walked into the living room with them and turned on the tv watching it.

Chase returned the light kiss. "Thank you." he replied as he took the cookie out and ate it. Chase held her hand. "Lets go for a drive this afternoon, and then tonight we'll go out to diner to celebrate." he said giving her hand a kiss. He then took a few steps towards their room and waited to see if she would follow.


"Keep them out of trouble till I get back!" Zander called over his shoulder to Talia as he headed out. He drove his car to a popular cafe downtown. After parking it, he got out and placed his order. He then sat and waited at a small two person table. A few minutes later an expensively dressed woman approached.

Lynch grinned "Im coming with ya'll!" he said excitedly as he got up rushing into the guest bedroom where the stuff was and shut the door getting ready. Nicole nodded and looked at Chase a giggle escaping her as she watched her brother dash down the hall and into the room to get ready. Nicole looked to Chase "I guess he's coming with us" she said entering the bedroom and going into the closet and shutting it to get dressed.

Talia yelled back "Got it!" she said twiddling her thumbs and sighing. Leaning aganist the couch she sighed and clicked on a sappy love movie to watch as she snuggled with the puppies. Hawk woofed and laid down closing his eyes with a woof.

"Maybe he'll fall asleep." Chase whispered to her with a small grin. He then went into the master bathroom to freshen his appearance and change. Once he had finished, he exited the bedroom and let the dogs outside before putting them in their crates.

Zander felt his heart lurch painfully, as he watched his former girlfriend approach. She was beautiful, rich dark mahogany ringlets tied into an elaborate bun, smooth creamy tan skin, and dark full brown eyes. Their relationship had ended badly when she had put too much pressure on him, and had insisted that he needed a higher degree. Thus they had parted ways, she went on to law school, while he finished his degree in elementary education, before moving to a new city and sharing an apartment with Chase. "Carmen...." he greeted her. "I had to be sure it was really you." she said in her familiar light Italian accent.

Nicole heard the words through the closet and smiled to herself. Once she was in a dress that was navy blue with matching heels she walked into the bathroom to fix her hair. Putting it in a bun and then taking it out and putting it in a side braid she smiled looking at her reflection and putting earrings in. Lynch smiled as he got into a shirt an shorts and flip flops ready to go.

Talia soon fell asleep on the couch with the puppies beside her on the couch. Hawk rolled onto his back snoring beside Talia. A little wag of the little tail every so often.

Chase waited for Nicole. He wore a light blue shirt with black dress pants and his nice shoes. His hair was styled and combed with a hint of gel keeping his blond tuffs slicked up.


Zander stood as Carmen kissed his left and right cheek in greeting. He returned the gesture and then pulled out her seat for her. "Thank you....." she replied as she sat down. He returned to his seat as they warmly regarded each other for a moment. "How have you been? Its been so long!" she remarked, a soft smile playing on her lips. "I couldn't be better." he replied as a warm smile spread across his face.

Nicole smiled going out and into the kitchen as she saw Chase and smiled. Nicole glanced at her brother already in the front seat and shook her head smiling. Lynch waited in the passenger side and tapped his thumbs on the dashboard in front. Nicole smiled going out and getting into the back seat and waiting.

Talia soon woke from the short nap and yawned getting up and going to the kitchen with a growl of her stomach. Looking around the fridge she found it almost empty but pulled out a tomato and went to the cabinet pulling out bread. With a sigh she pulled out the cutting board to dice up the tomato. and put it on her sandwich. Pulling out the little knife she began to cut the tomato in slices as she heard a bang of thunder that startled her causing the knife to slip and cut her finger lightly. Mumbling she put the knife in the sink and looked at her finger. Another bang of thunder went off and Talia gulped. Going to the door she locked it and quickly went to the puppies grabbing them and going into the bedroom with them shaking.

Chase went out and entered the drivers seat. He shook his head at the arrangement in partial dismay, then offered Nicole a slight smile. Starting the car, he pulled out of the drive way and drove along the quiet country roads. He turned the radio on and had the music playing softly.

Zander and Carmen conversed in small talk until their food arrived. Once they had finished eating, Carmen glanced up at Zander, and placed her napkin down on her plate. "Zander, I need to talk to you." she said. Zander nodded. "I have to tell you something too." he replied fingering his wedding band beneath the table. "You go first." she offered. "I'm married." he stated bluntly. A sad smile crossed her face. "I will be too, soon." she replied reaching out and taking his hand. "Remember our last day together?" she asked softly. He nodded averting his eyes. "And the night before that?" she continued. "Zander," she said to get his attention. "There is someone I'd like you to meet."

Nicole gave a smile as she leaned back against the seat blinking her eyes and watching the rain outside. Lynch turned the radio up on his favorite song and began to sing. Nicole giggled in the back seat looking out the window and humming.

Talia blinked hearing another clap of thunder as she pulled both puppies tight to her body as the small table lamp beside her flicked off. Talia drew in a shaky breath puling the blankets over her head with wide blue eyes. Talia gulped feeling a hot tear roll down her face as she turned on her phone staring at the lock screen of Zander and her a selfiee they took. Hearing another clap of thunder and lightning brighting the sky she snuggled the puppies closer tears blurring her vision. Hawk squirmed in the bed and licked
Talia's face.

Chase drove on, but slowly started to decrease his speed as the rain poured down. He observed with concern that the water in the creek beds were rising. "We may have to head to dinner a little earlier than expected." he said turning to look at Nicole.

Carmen stood and walked a few paces over to a nearby playground that Zander had previously not noticed. "Adrian." she called. A small boy appeared wearing casual play clothes and sandals. He had a light creamy olive tan complexion, with large dark brown eyes, and wavy brown hair. She spoke softly to him, before taking his hand and bringing him over to the table. She rested her handed calmly on his shoulder. "Zander, you're a father. Come meet our son." she said beckoning him over.

Nicole nodded "Fine by me...Im starving" she said looking at Chase with a smile as she looked out the window. Lynch smiled and started singing a song on the radio loudly. Nicole giggled joining in on the singing as it was her favirote song as well.

Talia blinked hearing the bang again and the rain pour on the metal roof. Still in tears she gulped as the tree began to tap on the window because of the wind. With a loud bang, Talia shrieked and dove under the covers in fear as she shook beside the puppies. "Zander where are you?" she said mumbling. Not wanting to distract him in case he was driving so she didnt text him.

Chase relaxed a little and drove the car back towards town. Once they reached the restaurant, he pulled up under the over hang. "You guys can get out here." he offered not wanting his wife to get wet. He didn't admit it but he actually had enjoyed their singing.

Zander gaped at her in complete shock for a moment. Then he stood and walked over to the small miniature of himself. "How is this possible? he asked still not fully comprehending. "He's two and a half, and his name is Adrian." she said as she picked him up for he wanted to be held. "Say 'hi' to Zander." she told him. The boy mumbled a small hi before burying his head in her neck

Lynch nodded going inside with Nicole as both walked in to the restaurant. Nicole spoke to the waiter calmly "Table for three.." she said with a smile as the waiter led them to a small table. Nicole sat on the inside of the right while Lynch say on the other side.


Talia blinked at the phone and texted a short thing to Zander "Where are you?" she said as the rain poured down hard and he clap of thunder and lightning made her shiver and cry more. Talia gulped as more hot tears made there way down her face and onto the puppies. Hawk squirmed closer and let out a little bark.
