I have been on here for a bit but I am just now getting the hang of everything, I only breed quarter horses as of right now. I breed for stats, color and conformation. Would love if I could get some more advice to get further in the game! TIA! :D

Well, you decided to make the right decision in asking for advice, as this forum is full of experienced players that can give you tons of advice on and tips on what they do.

For example, I don't calculate base stats, I look at the confo and health of each and every horse. Then I put their confo stats into their name, so I don't forget and try to inter-breed somehow, that used to happen a lot before I added their confo stats. But definitely add the confo into the names in case you forget. Unless you have them written down somewhere or in you're private journal, but I prefer keeping them in the names.

I also have been recently adding the * into my 60+ confo stat foals, so that I know which ones are the 60s that have all the same exact or higher words (around good or great is a good example). I actually quite like this second technique, but I am only using it for those that have short names.

Oh, and adding the "Gen" for generation and the # is another good way to keep track of your foals and horses, to keep them separate from foundations, gen 1s, and so on. This helps me keep track of every foal I have and to keep the lines fresh I add in a stallion or mare if I don't have the ability to breed my pairs I make.

But this is my take on playing the game, it may sound crazy and hard to keep track of, but it is working for me very well and I quite like this style of gameplay. I'm adding in something new everyday to keep myself unique from everyone else while also having a busy schedule during mass projects of mine, that is how I work as a human being.

^^

hello there! are you looking for any advice in particular? if you need guides, i made a stat gain guide a while back and here's a very in depth color genetics guide by vos. all the genes are still up to date but keep in mind some pattern art layers like silver (Zz/ZZ) were adjusted since the time it was written c: and there's also UlyssesBlue's foal gene calculator which i've found really helps with understanding how inheritance works.
