Future of EV?

#276722 Posted on 2024-12-29 06:59:11

I recently started playing again after a long break and have been surprised about the lack of active players. I saw on Hayzed's post that the economy hasn't been great. I was curious if there is anything in the works as far as game development? Or is the era of horse sims kind of a thing of the past?

If there's anything I can do to help promote the economy, I'd be happy to. If any new members need support, I will do what I can!

So, EV is no longer in development, but Abbey will try to keep the game up as long as she can. You can support equiverse by buying credits and talking ti friends about the game! That's all I could come up with :)

it may be helpful to read the following since they're directly from Abbey:

I didn't reply to that first post, as some people were already being quite negative. For in the game, I think a good showing horse can still be sold, as showing is also the best way to make money in my opinion. And some popular breeds/specialty combination are always selling nicely.

For the game itself, as already explained above it's not in development anymore, due to not making enough for those expenses (which are way higher than just keeping the game online).
I feel like there's still quite some EVC being bought, spend and also sold within the game, definitely not less as when the announcement came over a year ago.

There's even been a small influx of new players recently, I think. And now in the event we even openened the event shop (15.000 throws) a week early. That hasn't happen last year nor in the last two water balloon fights (maybe even before that, but I was on a long hiatus then), so I just take it as a positive sign of activity here  ^_^

@forgottenland - thank you! I hadn't seen those but that helps clarify a lot. But what a bummer to hear!

@blath ban - That's good to hear. Do you think there is anything to be done to market the game to new players and help keep them around? I would love to be involved anyway I can in that regard.

I just came back from being away for a long time as well. I was so bummed to hear the game isn’t in development anymore but I’m glad it is still up. I love this game.

in the 2nd link there is some conversation regarding advertising, it not only requires money to be invested but also time spent managing it, either by Abbey herself or someone else hired to manage advertising for her (which in turn would cost even more money).

I like randomly throwing 100k at new players >>
ahem

but anyway, I am actively buying and even sold a few horses within the last three days, so there's that.

Otherwise, like I said, I randomly throw money at new players if they're on when I am and I browse the online players page :D

@atomic not really sure about how to advertise/attract new players. Believe I saw something on the EV Discord that it was placed on social media somewhere.
But I'm not on social media, or just real social lol

And I think just being open to help new players, when they ask for it. Can't force it on them of course.
The kindness club had some mentoring program for new players, I think that's a great initiative

ah, the mentor program is sort of on hold lol. 😅 we're just not really in a position to manage it, plus a lot of our mentors/mentees stopped playing.

We can always advertise ourselves as well. Share on social media and whatnot. Buying credits is one of the best ways to keep the game alive.

@olympea that's kind of what I was thinking. How can we spread the word? Or where are new players hearing about the game so we can ensure that's a continued stream of new players?

@potato ren I love that idea! I think that kind of support says a lot about the community, too.

@forgottenland I would love to help with a mentor program if I can! Just let me know!
