Me Again

Ok. So I saw a facebook post and remembered about this game again LOL. My question is how is the economy? I have a SLEW of high stat/confo paints (I feel like that is common here), but I was wondering what is "circulating" and making decent revenue? I know the game isn't really being pushed dev wise, but isn't being abandoned, so I was wondering how the community is continuing? I always like randomly jumping on and breeding a few cute foals, but have been slacking on "sticking" around.
I feel like I always struggle to understand the best way make money here and level up (I feel like I have been lvl 7/8 for literal years haha). The other thing I wonder is if there aren't a whole lot of lines and such - how are yall preventing inbreeding issues?

(I know that I'm not gonna be the only one to do this, so I'm just gonna do it anyways.)

I'm just returning to showing horses myself actually, but I buy new horses once in a great while if I need a few more mares or studs to keep the lines clean. I do this by buying from the Equine Center, the only thing to generate a random horse for 1000 EVD.

But I'm lacking in revenue is because I gotta keep training my horses, the Riding Schools help in giving money, stats for players, and experience for horses. In case they've been already showed I put them in the Riding School to make equity while my main horses go for showing experience. Training wise is important, I just forget to train a couple of mine yesterday, but that's alright.

Other than that its basic knowledge for me to know about, I'm not really interested in delving deep into math calculations or anything like that, I'm just thriving and surviving to how I want it to be for me and my horses. Everyone here is different and that's quite alright with me.

All of my horses are high confo and stats are way higher than 60 NSS and I win most shows I enter into. Showing isnt that fair imo because I don't see a lot of entries when I enter a lot of times but not complaining because I make a lot of $ lol

Truthfully, the economy has suffered greatly with the small amount of people playing these days. Back in it's hay day, this game would have between 40-60 players on pretty regularly, and the most I ever saw playing at once was almost 100, nowadays, we're lucky to hit 4-10 without any event and I only really see it go to 15-20 players on (if that) when fun events are on, such as the snowball fight-which IMHO, is the most popular event throughout the year. After you'll see attendance go down and down. In addition to this, it's hard to even find shows to enter all your horses in no matter the level (def harder the higher that you move up though). I find that some horses are still able to be sold, but wayyyy below what market value used to be (I'm getting 15-20k for horses that used to go for 50-75k+). That being said it's about supply and demand, and because the player base is so low, it's nearly impossible to sell and maintain a good economy in game. But for what it's worth some dedicated players will still buy and purchase your horses, but don't keep high hopes- I know it's negative inn terms of outlook but if you try to sell you'll never know. It's good and helpful to join clubs for like minded breeders, as it can help stay involved with breeds/confo/colors/specialities/etc that you yourself are involved in. If you have any similar to mine I love adding more stock to my breeds please message me lol.

I think the ability to sell horses or make money off of stud fees greatly depends on what you have to offer. If you breed a more common breed in a common discipline it is certainly easier to sell foals. I have no problem selling gypsy vanner foals for anywhere from $50-$100k. It is all about supply and demand and gypsy vanners in driving is common. Now selling a gypsy vanner in show jumping is a bit more of a challenge. Those I have always just bred for me anyway.  Making money can be easy if you do it the right way. A lot of people will start with a handful of horses and just put them in riding schools each day and keep going that way. Also, I know many people do not like entering expensive shows but it is true the more you spend in shows the more you are likely to bring in. There is a really good guide in the game guide section made by Sab about leveling up and another about how to make money. I would definitely check those out.

As far as not inbreeding, I start with pretty large number of foundations. I buy from others when I can and supplement with equine center horses if needed. I also only breed my horses 1-2x each and only keep one for showing. The others are sold or go sit on a spare. This makes it much easier to match up horses and make sure you aren't accidentally matching up related horses for breeding. Also, I know a lot of people don't look past the first page on the horse pedigree so multiples past the 2nd page don't bother a lot of people.

There are a lot of ways to play and enjoy the game. It's just about working out which way you prefer :)

I noticed that the richest players have many arenas.
Can you earn a lot with a large number of arenas?

So a large number of arenas is a way to earn milions... Right? 🤔

on a good day, making 300 shows at 100$ entry fee each, I can probably get 15k ish.

Not gonna lie, most (read it as 98% of it) of my money comes from selling art

But i was making close to 2 mill a week when entering shows with a herd of 200 horses.
This was with fully upgraded tack on all of them as well.

Also slowly adding training slots to your arenas over time and having a variety of disciplines/levels so people can use the for their daily horse training will help earn some money.
