Right so last night we had a snowstorm, which is just lovely right? Well, a long and thick tree branch has fallen on our house. What's worse is it's on one of the lower power lines. So, we'll have to get someone out here to get it off, and make sure there's no damage to the line or the roof. When I say this tree branch is long, it's as long as our house. As I can see it from the backyard, and the front yard. The wind was around 75+ mph. I'm sure the horses loved that. It's still fairly windy outside, but not as bad as before.

Weather is weird, it was hot and sunny yesterday morning and afternoon. Then, in the evening to the early hours, a snowstorm. From what it looks like I have to clean up some stuff in the pasture as well. As I see that the stack of logs have been blown around. I wouldn't doubt that the Mini Horse wagon has fallen over. It's also like 30 degrees, so that's not helpful.

A lovely day of fun, trying to clean up the mess of the storm. On the plus side, no snow is on the ground. Probably a lot of mud though, knowing our pasture.

Did anyone else get crazy weather this week?

Not that crazy, but we also had a snow storm last night. It was in the 50s and 60s leading up to this cold cold weekend. I had to scrape a layer of ice off my car in order to get to work this morning. :(

Yeah, flowers are blooming outside. It came out of nowhere. The weather report said thunderstorms, not 75 mph snowstorms.

Yikes! It's been pretty warm here. Like 70's, so not too hot :P But during the last big storm about a month ago a huge tree fell in the pasture and almost took out the hay barn/run in shelter for the horses :x Then a week or two later the tree that was next to that one fell. We're going to have lots of wood for next winter! Hah...x.x

We had ridiculous blizzards last week, and then a less-intense one this week. Ugh. The weather has been bouncing back and forth between these massive snowstorms and very nice upper 60/lower 70 degree days. Not super atypical for Colorado, but still annoying! I'm ready for it to just be spring already!

@Only the Wind: Same here. I'm waiting to see butterflies. One of my least favorite insects has come back though...Like a bunch of them. That would bees, wasps, hornets, and the ever so lovely carpenter bees that put holes in the barn.

@Lamarckism: We had two trees fall in our front yard a few months ago. It was a horrible thunderstorm. Took down a tree that had a few bird's nests in it. I felt so sorry for them.

Here's a few pictures from that storm. It took at least 10 hours to get it all cleaned up. About five trips down to the burn pile, with the trailer.

What's worse is my dad's down in GA, at the moment. We'll have to see if our neighbor or a friend can help. Maybe both. Ugh. On the plus side we rescued a turtle she/he will be released today or tomorrow hopefully. We can hopefully put her over at our neighbor's pond, where she/he likely came from. She/he is an Eastern Painted Turtle, very pretty. I need to get a few pictures of her/him, before we release her/him.

Update
So, our friend Art couldn't do it. Due to the fact that the tree is at least 30 ft long. If he'd tried to saw it in half, or pull on it.. It could seriously cause damage to the power line. So, my dad is calling the power company, and we'll see if we can get a 'tree person' (as my mom called them), to come out.

How scary! Glad everyone is all right, and no animals were hurt :)

We had a snowstorm here last night. Very glad I did not have to work today, the roads are quite bad at the moment. Kinda sucks too cause the weather was starting to feel like spring with everything starting to bloom, and now this. Ugh!

It is around 24 outside. I have 15 chickens in my backyard coop, and they were just starting to get used to getting let out in the nice weather to forage in the fields... I can hear them hollering out in the coop at the moment lol. It is quite large so they're fine, and the weather is cold enough to give them frostbite so in they shall stay till it's warmer!

@Pirate: Seems you're in the same situation as us. No snow on the ground, but we did have quite the rainstorm last night. We have chickens as well, they have an automatic heater in their coop when it reaches in the late 30s or early 40s.

The tree is off the power line thanks to the power company. They were pretty shocked when they saw how long the tree was from the backyard. It's still on the roof, but we can get it off ourselves. They also sawed the parts of the tree that they got off the power line, into firewood basically. I can pack them in the small trailer or wagon, and take them to the burn pile.
