Thank you! I purchased this blank model at Breyerfest YEARS ago, and I had every intention of having it custom painted to look like my boy, but I never got around to it. I love the mold - just need a painter.

I'm wanting to do that too, though I might try my own hand at it. I'm a perfectionist so I'd want him done just right. Gotta figure out the best paints and top coats..

What theme or type of Breyers do you like collecting?

Me..I go for the old, unique ones and the ones based off real horses that I like. Currently, I just found Doc Bar and Zippo Pine Bar...2 of the greatest AQHA studs. My friend is looking to get all the Triple Crown Winners that Breyer made.

Do you have a theme or do you just get whichever ones you like?

The only theme I go for is racehorses I liked in Traditional size. Other than that I just get horses I like mostly in Classic size. I like customs but they are usually expensive soooo.... and I still haven't found that custom mare I mentioned but she's somewhere! Found the original order receipt for her which said she was a Thoroughbred custom paint job and apparently I also got another custom which I don't even remember doing (it was off 2014) which is a Hanoverian mare. She is also "missing" :(

I am currently stalking as we speak, on an auction site Classic sized Black Beauty & National Velvets Pie because they were my fave books as as kid. And a blue classic Arabian named Tidal Wave because he looked sooo pretty.

last week I bought 2 fantasy horses because I love all things unicorn (Northwind & Zena) but they haven't been delivered yet.

And I have always loved the fantasy stallion Cupcake but never got around to getting him til now when my equally sweet partner saw me looking but not buying 2 weeks ago because of these economic times so he bought him as a surprise for me last week. A picture might well follow if I can get photos to work on the forums!

That’s awesome that he bought that for you!

I just won another one off of an eBay auction - Impress Me Shannon. He’s a gorgeous appy.

I’ve never gotten a custom before. With yours, did you request a certain custom or did you buy a “premade” custom they already had?

I bought pre made customs just because I liked their colour. I have never ordered a custom i designed, mostly because I wouldn't be able to decide what I wanted it to look like!

Yep it was a nice surprise opening the parcel!

Congratulations on your successful auction :)

My mom and I only collect traditional sized Breyers. We have everything from super old and rare models, to Breyerfest limited editions models (only a few hundred or less made), and everything in between. At one time, we had over 600 models. We have sold a lot in trying to downsize as they were taking over the house. We had shelves going around the top of all the main living space as well as shelves and cabinets full of them. It was overwhelming, lol.

@Black Raven, love your siggy!

I collect mostly OF Traditional Breyers, with a number of Classics. The last few years I've started also collecting Akhal-Teke resins, Copper Fox, and some Stone. But Breyer has been my hobby since I was 8/9 years old when I inherited many from my aunt and my mom (who still collects). Now I'm about to start graduate school and have just over 200 models.

Curious what favorites you all have! I'll have to think about mine.. it's been a bit since they've all been out together and I have so many I love. ^^'

I collect whatever takes my fancy :D

I currently have the stablemate appaloosas as a conga, the trad and stablemate pacers/standardbreds, im starting up a conga of the horses like santiago (polo pony) windtalker etc,

and I have a few customs.

Thanks @Revv, it was made for me when I first joined equiverse, and I have never changed it, I love it too.

I am actually also in the process of cataloguing my models for insurance/photo show reasons, and to get them ready for my return to live shows, so after ive been through them all, I will happily share some of my photos including more of the Interceptor.

*sorry for my late late reply, I have been flat out in RL, and just didnt have the time or energy to come on
