Your Journal feature - Does anyone use it & why??

Ok so I'm bored on this lazy Sunday evening so thought I'd ask my fellow EV'ers if they use the "Your Journal" feature & if so what for??

I personally haven't used it yet - probably because I'm not sure what its for hence this question.

Currently I keep any notes regarding EV & breeding pairs etc on either excel or word. I was thinking of transferring it to a journal but knowing my luck all the information would get lost. Me & technology don't mix!!

I use it to keep notes on various upcoming events, equiverse breeding pairs, breeding notes, info on horses sold or past..

I don't. I just keep any notes of importance in sticky notes.



As an example, lists how many horses of what level that I have who are old enough to show so that I can create the appropriate number of shows.

I actually haven't used it much yet since I keep most notes on the stickynotes program and lines plans on Excel or google Docs. Breeding partners and notes on specific horses are in the horse's private notes.
But I think I'll use it with my list of daily reminders for EV specifically and continue to use it as a place to keep notes about people who I've seen being really active or helpful and kind so I can do nice things for them sometime along with list of people interested in certain things form me, like breedings from general horse groups or art or sale of particular items.

I use it for my to-do list for art (recolours, etc) - generally to keep track of art tasks I have completed and ones I have yet to do.

Honestly all I have in there is the formula for horse pricing.

I've actually written loads in mine. Because I'm an avid writer, I usually have around 4-8 notepads and at least 2 word docs up on my laptop (oops), so I love to have a special something for everything EV! Otherwise I'l get confused with everything that's open..

Be careful with those sticky notes Kuk, mine just deleted all of the notes I had and the back up "doesn't exist". :/

As for the journal on here I use my to keep track of my planned names for each line/breed currently :)

I keep forgetting we have a journal LOL

I had wondered about it too, but I've yet to actually even check it out, lol.

I think I'd be inclined to use it if it were visible to others, either entirely public or to an audience of my choosing - sort of like LiveJournal or similar.

For individual horse info that I need to remember I just stick in it the horse's private notes. I'd be fairly likely to forget about it if I put it anywhere else, haha.

I have one page for horse notes (breeding pairs, potential sales, etc), one page for horse pricing, and one page to keep track of all of my fellow thoroughbred breeders. It is super handy and I really enjoy this feature. :) I just wish I could have, like, ten different pages to keep some of my notes more separate to satiate my ocd. lol

Ruki - you have a formula for pricing? I just guess & hope for the best!

I do keep breeding notes / stats born with etc / generation number on individual horses pages so I dont get lost if my computer crashes & I lost my word/excel documents. Which has happened a few times.

Wiki, the same thing can happen with an sort of program. It's a risk we take with technology.

I used to write things down on paper, which has its own issue of papers being misplaced.

I use mine for art orders, things I'm waiting on, etc. I used to use notepad for EV, but so much more convenient to have a private page directly on this site for all my notes that pertain to the game.
