Skye 
Skye shrugged. "I don't listen to music very often, but it's usually classical in the background, honestly."

Ashwin
"I usually listen to classical, too. One second." Ash fiddled with some things, making sure the volume wasn't up very loud, and then pressed play. Soft music drifted into the air, filling the house with the strains of music. "I have a cheesecake in the refrigerator if you'd like some dessert?" 

Skye 
"Sure," Skye said, debating whether to take her jacket off. She ultimately decided not to.

Ashwin
He nodded and pulled out a couple small plates and two forks, setting them on the table. Ash opened the fridge and pulled out the cheesecake. It was precut, so he set it down and grabbed a utensil to get the slices onto the plates. "Which piece do you want?"

Skye 
"I'm okay with either," Skye replied, shrugging. This was a new experience.

Ashwin
He picked a random piece and was able to get it out relatively well (he'd had them fall apart on him before). Ash carefully put the piece on her plate then selected a piece for himself. He returned the cheesecake to the fridge and then sat down. "So, uh, what sort of stuff do you do in your free time when you're not working?"

Skye 
Skye thought for a second before responding. What DO I do in my free time? "I sometimes watch the neighbor's kids, or, braid my hair or something? I don't usually have free time, I guess. Technically I can take as many or as little days off as I want, but I'm never really off." It's a round the clock job.

Ashwin
He frowned ever-so-slightly. And I thought I worked hard. "You do need to take breaks at least occasionally. It's not good for your health to always be working."

Skye 
Skye shrugged. "It's not like one can take many breaks when you're planning a-" nonono I just said that. Crap.

Ashwin
He froze, mouth slightly ajar. His fork was raised, a bite of cheesecake about to be popped into his mouth. He closed his mouth and lowered the fork back to his plate. "Planning a what?" Ash asked carefully. 

Skye 
"A, um..." Skye couldn't bring herself to answer. 

Ashwin
I'm a fool. A complete, utter idiot. I should have seen it earlier. Ash sighed and closed his eyes, as if that could make this unfortunate news disappear. "You're a rebel, then?" he asked, quietly, opening his eyes. 

Skye 
Skye bit her lip and sighed, then nodded. She didn't look at him, not wanting to see his expression.

Ashwin
He took a moment to gather his thoughts. "Explain, then," Ash finally said, sitting back. "What's the point? The motivation?"

Skye 
"... Have you ever wondered why things are the way they are? What happened to make them this way? There are so many issues that no one is bothering to fix higher up, and it's only going to get worse. But no one seems to care. The problems don't affect them, so why should they?" Skye paused. "What I'm trying to say is that the Head has done some terrible things, and they'll continue if no one puts a stop to it. We're trying to change the situation for the better. Get everyone what they need, make sure they're taken care of. Everything the Head isn't doing."
