A herd of wild horses are wandering in search of grass and water.
But little do they know that a band of winged unicorns, strong and powerful, are watching their every move, waiting for their chance.

That was years ago. The herd's members are slaves to the winged unicorns, and none have considered escape possible... until now.

Attempts at escaping are made more and more often, as the herd's rebellious thoughts grow stronger and stronger.

Will the enslaved horses get away? Or will their captors remain in control?

Rules

-No controlling other people's characters
-Third person only
-Romance is allowed, but not too much, and don't expect me to do it with my characters (If you don't want to do romance, put it in Anything Else, so everybody is aware)
-Just to be clear, the horns on the unicorns are NOT magical

Duchess

The rugged mare gazed at nowhere in particular, her eyes glinting with sadness. Her ragged mane bounced as she walked, until she stooped to pull a blade of dead grass out from the dry soil, which she didn't even enjoy. A horse whinnied nearby, and she turned and gave them a sad smile.

Eiffel & Thistle

Eiffel zigged away from her pursuer, enjoying the breezy chase. "Can't catch me!" She taunted, turning her head to glance behind her, then whipping it back, for he was gaining. "Oh, yes I can!" Thistle, her twin, strained himself, pressuring every muscle to make him go faster, faster, faster. He slipped behind... and then surged forward, her leg making contact with his hoof. "Tag! I win!" He crowed, relaxing his tired muscles. "Oh, it wasn't you. I was going easy on you," Contradicted his sister. "I could've beaten you easily, if I was trying." "Yeah, right," Thistle said. "I still won, anyway." "Maybe this time," Eiffel grinned, looking sly. "But not next time!" She tagged him and ran off. "Hey! Not fair, I wasn't ready!" He slipped after her, craftily jumping in front of her.

Asteroid

Aster strolled smugly through his palace, head high, showing that he was superior to everyone. As he passed two foals, chasing each other and laughing uncontrollably, he rolled his eyes at their silly antics. Typical for an ordinary horse, he thought. Very typical.

(Aster is the lead stallion since no one signed up as one, correct?)

Rissa:
Rissa pawed at a clump of weeds, scrunching up her nose in disgust. There was hardly any good grass here. She watched with narrowed eyes as Asteroid moseyed past way in front of her. She hated him with a fierce passion, and she wanted to kill him herself. However, she didn't want to draw attention to herself by saying that to anyone.
The dull wild bay mare turned around and walked a short distance until she was under a scraggly tree. She cocked her ears backward to try and hear if Aster said anything.
If I pretend to rest, maybe I can find out some good information.

Vierra:
"Asteroid, my love, do slow down!" Vierra cried playfully, trotting after the handsome stallion. She stopped when she noticed the foals playing.
"Such despicable creatures." she muttered, pinning her ears at them. "Shoo, infants!" she demanded, stomping her hoof on the ground.

(Yeah, he is)

Duchess

Duchess noticed the lead unicorn and his mate, Vierra, and turned away in disgust. She hated both, most of all the evil unicorns. She couldn't imagine how the pair could be so proud of themselves, not when they kept this herd captive. That was a wicked accomplishment, she felt.

Eiffel & Thistle

She spotted Vierra, but chose to ignore her... that is, until she saw her insulting them. "I refuse to go anywhere," She burst out, filled with hatred. "If you wish us to leave, why don't you let us go free!" It was more of a demand then a question. "Tag! I win again!" Thistle called, tapping her with his nose. She swished her tail in his face, and he looked confused, until he saw Vierra. "Oh," He said softly, and scampered off, worried of being hurt.

Asteroid

He heard Vierra, and turned, just in time to see Thistle retreat. "He's got the right idea," He yelled to the annoying filly that had just insulted his mate. How do you dare say such things to lead mare, and furthermore, my mate?" "Such nasty things, the little brats," He murmured to Vierra.

Noble
Noble trotted on up beside Rissa with his usual graceful steps, throwing his head in the process. His curved ears angled forward in the direction of the unicorns. "Nasty things, aren't they?" He asked with a humorless giggle, flicking his tail as he came to a stop. "Not even a thought towards the little ones." He talked slow, punctuating every word he spoke. He eyed Vierra with contempt, snorting loudly with a stomp of his foot.

Tomb
Tomb was quiet as always, simply circling the area at a leisure pace. He kept an eye on every one, storing his own observations for another time. As usual, it was info he could use to his advantage. He ruffled his wings slightly, and stopped to stretch a leg out. He ducked his head down to nip at a small itch, turning his attention to Asteroid and Vierra.

Vierra:
Vierra nodded smugly, glaring in pride at Thistle as he retreated.
"Get lost, filly." she snapped, nuzzling Asteroid on the neck with fake affection.
He has no idea I'm playing him! Either way, I'm glad I have this dominance... and the chance to have his foals. I need to be in control, not just of the slaves- but of my fellow unicorns as well.

Rissa:
Rissa heard the leaders taunt the yearlings, and she swatted her tail in anger. It took all she had to prevent herself from lunging at them. But she knew she had to keep her composure. She wasn't very close to them, but she was close enough to cause a scene. So she continued to stand still.
She pricked her ears at Noble. "You don't say." she grumbled crossly. "I suggest you keep quiet, unless you want to start a fight. Think first, act later."

Elsa

The mottled bay mare looked more grey than bay due to the flith that covered her coat, her dull brown eyes looked across to Noble as he spoke and then to the young ones "urgh why can't they leave them alone..." she trailed off not wanting the unicorns to hear her. She knew the value of silence and watched the foals closely hoping they would run back to the herd and not get into a confrontation. Especially with Vierra.

Cobalt

The black and white stallion stood atop of the ridge watching over their slaves, he thought to myself 'that Noble horse needs to stop prancing about, hes definitely too big for his boots'. Cobalt was in no mood for silly mortal stallions. The submissive mares he could tolerate but the stallions were a different matter.

Umbra

Umbra watched both the unicorns and normal horses from beneath a stunted tree. She sighed as two playing foals were scolded for enjoying themselves. "How horrible the horses must think we are," she murmured to herself. Seeing the foals looking angry and scared, Umbra longed to run over and tell them that not all the unicorns were bad. But she couldn't do that; aside form the fact that they would either yell at her or run away if she got close enough, she wasn't even sure if there were any good unicorns.

Noble
"Well, when exactly is later Rissa?" Noble asked softly under his breath, watching the foals carefully. Unlike the others, he was prepared to jump in to save the foals if necessary. "They only keep us here for shame. One day..." He added, a promise held in his tone. He dug at the pitiful grass beneath their hooves, and looked around. His eyes landed on Tomb, and he quickly began moving away slowly, he knew just how observant that unicorn was. He brushed past Elsa, "The silent one is watching..." He whispered to her.

Tomb
Tomb just then caught sight of Noble's discrete whispers and let out a loud snort of warning. He didn't keep much attention on the group, and walked over to Umbra silently. He was quiet for a good moment, "Careful, Umbra." He warned, his gaze mostly locked on the leaders as well Cobalt. "Sympathy is your worst enemy." Judging my his tone, he obviously knew better than to let anyone else know of her troubles.

Rissa:
"I'm willing to wait." she murmured, watching as he walked away. Maybe he was right. Maybe they should act now, without a plan, without a strategy. No. That's stupid, and that's how horses get themselves killed, she though, dismissing his point of view. But she had to admit to herself that the idea of revolting now was very temping.

Eiffel

Her face twisted with anger, she bared her teeth at the unicorns, her tail swishing so fast it was almost a blur. "You.. You... You spoiled, no good...." She stopped inthe middle, words weren't going to win this fight. The unicorns wouldn't back down at insults, wouldn't set them free because they were offended. A calm, thoughtful horse would have stayed away, but she was experiencing what unicorns were really like, and, head down, stepped forward, practically seeing red. "What did you just say," She said through clenched teeth.

Thistle

Hiding behind a shadowy boulder, Thistle watched his twin as she moved closer to the pair of unicorns. "No," He whispered, ducking behind the boulder. "She'll get killed."

Asteroid

How stupid can this foal get? He wondered, watching her draw in closer. "She'll regret it," He said to Vierra, under his breath, as he prepared to call in for backup.

Vierra:
Vierra looked down at the filly with cruel amusement.
"I told you to get lost. Are you deaf?" she teased, baring her teeth slightly. She didn't worry that the horses were planning on fighting back. She knew that the unicorns would win if they did. And besides, one puny, pathetic excuse for a foal couldn't cause any threat.

Noble
Noble hurried over immediately when he saw the foal step up. While he did admire her bravery and rage, it was a reckless move. He pushed himself between the leading mare and the foal roughly, glaring at the leading mare in warning. "I believe I prefer the word 'spirited'." He retorted, his ears pinned back against his skull for a split of a second. "She's just a little one, I suggest some patience on your end." He spoke with a voice of disguise. It was polite but with a sharp undertone.

Tomb
Tomb froze, his ear perked forward in anticipation. A chance for action was exactly what he needed.

Duchess

"What is she doing?" Duchess said to herself, shaking her head. She'd seen Eiffel plenty of times, and she seemed like a nice filly, not at all easily upset. And Eiffel was obviously upset right now.

Eiffel

Eiffel was nervous, but there was no backing down right now, so she gave it her all. "I heard you just fine," She said with a grin, to hide her terror. "But I didn't listen."

Thistle

Thistle couldn't hear what she was saying, but he tell what she meant by the looks on the unicorn's faces. "Oh, no," He said, hiding behind his boulder again.
