Maddox

Maddox laid on a rock just outside of the den waiting for anything exciting to happen. The chill of the fall weather penetrated his thick silvery pelt making him shiver a little. For such a high status as Alpha was, it sure was boring to him. The pack could almost run itself, though he doubted the idea of some of them being able to control their own pack. His father had always told him that being alpha was a big responsibility, but he was beginning to doubt the words of his father. "I guess I could go find some food to eat," he muttered to himself. Standing up, he hopped off the large rock he had been laying on and wandered in the direction of Mammoth Plains. It had the best meals at this time a year when the herds of deer and buffalo began to migrate from the east.

Akita- a white 3 year old she wolf with casual light blue, almost grey eyes. Along the top of her head she has black and grey markings that go along the top of her back and to her tail.

Akita walked along the edge of the red ash forest, gazing at the herds of buffalo that now occupied the mammoth plains. She licked her lips as she tried to find a weak or young buffalo she could take down herself. So far she had spotted three calves, all strong and healthy. They all were near the middle of the herd so they would be hard to separate. There was one bull buffalo that she spotted limping, but he seemed to still have some fight left and would be difficult to kill. She continued walking south looking for other weak buffalo. "I know there's a better option somewhere" she whispered to herself.

Maddox

Maddox watched from the trees, eyeing the herd of buffalo. None of them seemed to catch his eye as easy prey, so he moved slightly further to the north, staying close to the tree line. Without warning, the herd scrambled away in a hurry. "Crap," he cursed under his breath. Maddox came to a stop and watched as the herd left his sight. "So much for getting a decent meal today." Turning back towards the Deadwood forest, he aimed for much smaller prey.

She growled as the buffalo fled. She looked around, wondering what had startled them. She had stayed perfectly hidden. "So much for that" she said as the herd disappeared. She cautiously made her way onto the open spaces of Mammoth plain, keeping her nose low to the ground sniffing for rodents. She looked up to check her surroundings. She felt like she was being watched. Deciding to give up on rabbits she headed towards the lake, her mouth dry. She stayed on high alert as she bent to lap up water.

Maddox

Maddox leaped into the air bringing himself down on a pile of leaves with the crash. He had been eyeing the pile for what seemed like forever sniffing out the chipmunk that had crawled in. Unfortunately, the little guy was just too fast for Maddox and had scrambled away before the big brute of a wolf landed on his paws. Maddox huffed in frustration as his stomach began to growl loudly. Letting out a deep growl, he turned it into a howl to let everyone now of his frustrations. Walking back to his den, he hoped for scraps to be found for him to munch on. "Bones will have to do for now." He laid down on the dirt at the mouth of the den where the remainder of a leg bone, that had once belonged to deer now laid. Maddox chewed at it forcefully, letting all of his anger go with each crushing bite he took at the bone.

Akita jumped at the sound of a howl. It didn't sound that far away either. She scanned the nearby area, seein nothing. It was only one howl so it seemed it was another lone wolf. She hesitated before raising her head and letting out a questioning howl. She listened intently. She heard the rustling of a squirrel nearby as it looked at her. The squirrel darted up a tree "of course" she muttered as she began heading in the direction of the other wolf's howl. she pondered as she trotted through the forest

Maddox

Maddox shot up, standing prospectively over his scraps. Ears perked forward and nose to the air, he listened for the wolf nearby. He noticed the wolf was venturing closer to his den and in attempt to stop them from coming any closer he let out a warning growl. "I will not hesitate to hurt you," growled out at the trees, hoping the wolf would get the message to stay its distance from his den. He was not about to share his space nor food with a wolf he didn't know anything about.

Akita stopped at the sound of a growl, sniffing the air. The other wolf was close. She debated what she should do. Either she could run away or she could walk over to the wolf anyways. She paced for a bit before walking forwards to him anyways, looking around a bush she could see the wolf. She lowered her head in curiosity before lifting it back up. Her stomach growled as she saw the bones but she had more interest in this wolf than bones at the moment "hello" she finally said

Maddox

Maddox stood tall, letting the female wolf know he was bigger and stronger than she was. He growled lowly at her when she looked at the bones, but he noticed that she wasn't that interested. Perking his ears, he stared at her intently before responding to her. "Hi," he said lowly, but trying to sound at least a little friendly. He didn't normally care for other lone wolves, and would rather keep to himself.

Akita walked into full view, standing straiter as she saw him do the same. she thought "I thought I was the only wolf around here, I guess I was wrong" she said as her stomach have another howl of hunger. She sighed, looking at the trees before looking back at the male wolf "I'm going to find food, care to join me?" She said as her stomach growled again

Maddox

Maddox hesitated for a moment, deciding if he should accompany the female wolf or not. He nodded as his stomach growled at the thought of attempting to hunt once more. The bones were just not enough to satisfy such a large appetite that he had. He walked a few steps toward the wolf. "Sure, I guess." He waited for the female to lead, letting her decide where they were going to hunt.

Akita turned and walked through the forest, speeding up as they headed to the mammoth plains. She stopped at the edge of the forest looking across the plains. The buffalo had returned along with a few deer. "We're in luck, the buffalo are back. I was trying to hunt one earlier but they got spooked." She explained. "Look there's a calf on the outside of the herd" she said excitedly as her stomach growled again.

Nero a 4 year old golden brown male with blue eyes

Nero

Nero was laying down just at the edge of the trees facing the mammoth plains he licked his jaws at the thought of catching one of them. He hadn't had anything good to eat in a few a days, he eyed a calf just out side the herd and stood up moving closer to the herd keeping low to the ground as he slowly got closer he hunched back his back legs getting ready to run and take it down.

Akita

The white wolf walked out onto the plains, the grass hiding her from view as she neared the buffalo calf. She broke into a run, sprinting at the calf. The buffalo panicked and took off. Singling out the calf, who was lagging behind the herd, she chased it away from the herd letting it exaust itself
