I thought it would be nice to have one of these threads on the new version of EV, so here we go! Please make sure you are kind and respectful of everyone and their animals! If you have a bazillion pictures you want to share, I kindly ask you post links as I would like to try NOT to flood this thread and make it crash everyone's computers lol. If you want to share little tid bits or stories about your pets, please do!

This is Scout! He is believed to be either a Quarab or Morab, but we will never really know as he is a rescue! Sire is unknown. He was born at the center I rescued him from, but I have no info on his dam :( He is a "cherry" or "blood" bay, and is currently around...14.5 hands? Maybe? He turned two on March 25 of this year, and he is my first horse ♥

This is Athena! She is a German Shepherd mix. We don't know what with lol. Some people think Belgian Malinoise, some people think Collie. What do you think? She is four years old, and is SPOILED. She's the sweetest, most playful dog and I love her. BUT, she is under going training because she has protection issues. Don't come near me or our house, or she will bite you :( She has sadly bitten someone (mostly because they don't listen when we tell them not to come in our house) :( but we have faith in her and our trainer.

I will be adding my other kiddos, but for right now, these are all I have to show.

From left to right there is Katie (though it's pronounced more like Cat e), Smacky, Tigger and Bootsy. This was taken shortly after we got Smack. Bootsy is no longer with us, but this is my favorite photo of all my pets and he was such a sweet kitty. Katie is a Jack Russell Terrior and Smacky is a Catahoula Leopard Dog. Both Tigger and Bootsy came from shelters.

We got Bootsy along with a black and white cat named Sylvester (who has also since died) when a shelter was having a thing where if you got a black cat they would give you another cat half off since they have such a hard time getting people to take black cats.

Tigger we got, along with my grandparents cat Mattie when another shelter was doing something similar only this time it was get a kitten thend you get a cat.

Smacky we got when a family friend's wife (who really didn't like Smacky) got pregnant and claimed she was worried what would happen to the baby since she is such a big dog, so we took her.

And Katie we got when my mom was going through cancer and another dog we had rescued named Pooh (he was a St Bernard/Chocolate Lab mix and had a similar situation as Smacky, though no one we knew. The people at the shelter couldn't take him so the guy asked Mom if she would be willing otherwise he was going to have him put down at 5 months old) was more then we could handle at the time and had a biting habit that put my mom at risk due to lympnodes (or however that's spelt ) being all pretty much removed from his favorite arm to bite her on (or so it seemed if you know what I mean). The guy we found took at risk dogs in, retrained them and adopted them out. He wanted my Mom to have a dog still so he gave her several options and that's how we got Katie. Pooh, who I believe got renamed Tonka, is doing well last we heard.

Ugh I just now saw your reply! I love all of your kiddo's stories. Bootsy (RIP) reminds me of a cat I currently have whom is not listed. She looks exactly like Bootsy but with different colors.

Alright, in total, I've had over 50 pets throughout my life, but I'll post the ones I have pictures of online and are still with me

Bea: (bearded dragon)
Bea is 8 months old, she was born on December 20, 2015 :). So, her name's Bea because I couldn't think of a good name soon enough (I wasn't expecting to get a bearded dragon when I got her), so we called her Bea as in bearded dragon as a temporary name, but when I did think of a name "Bea" was already pretty much set.
She's the most spoiled lizard you can imagine. We take her to the beach, she eats a very varied diet of insects (which I breed just for her), fruits and vegetables, loves my laptop's keyboard because it gets warm, and falls asleep when you give het head rubs.

Gaia: (boa constrictor)
Gaia is my (almost) 4 month old boa constrictor, she was born on April 29, 2016. Her name's Gaia because Gaia was the god of the earth, or "Mother Earth" in greek mythology. She's still a baby and therefore very shy, but she's really starting to get used to people. We had a bit of feeding problems at first, because she wouldn't eat at all, and then she would only eat live (which is dangerous once she starts eating bigger feeders because they might bite/scratch at her). However, she ate her first thawed mouse last Saturday and I'm SO HAPPY! Funny story: The first few days she was here she would appear out of her terrarium every morning and would be sitting on top of my closet, and I had no idea how she was getting out. The thing is, my dad and sister started freaking out (she was ~45cm long then, not a big deal, but they were terrified), but three days later I found a little hole on top of her viv. Snakes can fit through really tight spaces, so I covered it up and she never got out again.

Keka: (dachshund)
She's my 8 year old dog! Keka was born on September 11, 2007, so she'll be turning 9 this year. I swear this dog thinks she's a human, and will understand pretty much anything you say to her. Altough she's got a long back and nonexistent legs, we take her hiking very often, and she's good at it. Also, I taught her to jump broomsticks like a horse, but she will only do it for cat food or some other treat item xD

Cleo: (scorpion mud turtle)
I'm not 100% sure how old Cleo is because she was a rescue. I found her in the trash and she was very very sick, so I took her in. Thankfully, she recovered and is a healthy baby turtle now. This species feeds mostly on meat, so her favorite food is chicken :). I use her an Bea a lot in reptile speeches for children by the way
Photos: 1 / 2 (before you freak out, this is NOT her water dish, we just put her in there for a few hours for a speech and she had to have SOME water. she's got a huge pool in her terrarium)

Toruga: (scorpion mud turtle)
We're not creative, so her name is literally "turtle" in spanish. Again, she's a rescue so I don't know her exact age, I just know she's an adult. This girl doesn't have a nose (might as well name her Voldy) because when I rescued her, a dog had bitten it off and she had several bite marks on her shell, which you can see in the picture. She's very very shy and extremely defensive (for good reason), so she's very likely to bite when she feels insecure, I don't recommend getting too close to her head. It's fine though, I still love her and give her the best life I can

Dago: (dutch warmblood)
Dago came to our stable somewhere around April 2015 for someone else to buy, but him and the guy trying him out didn't get along and I ended up riding him. We kinda clicked, so now I'm in the process of buying him (haven't finished payments, but already started :D). He's the sweetest horse there is and will neigh at me every time I get near his stall, which I love since Jack (my other horse) had always been hyper-protective of his stall and would get super grumpy when he's in. Dago's huuuge, which is also a big change from Jack, who was around 15hh. Dago is 17.1hh. Anyway, he's 11 years old and was born on May 20, 2005. Funny story: He's missing his right front tooth, because when he was little, he was running around on the field and couldn't stop and hit a tree xD. He can be a liiittle clumsy lol. I will post a photo of his missing tooth below
Photos: halloween / missing tooth / the day he got to our stables / jumpy

Jack: (criollo) Jack is my baby boy and I will always consider him to be so ♥ He was my first horse, I bought him with my birthday money when I turned 15 (I had been riding him for a year by then). We are not sure of exactly how old he is, and his teeth are really really weird to it's hard to tell, but he must be around 18 by now. There are no words to describe how much this horse has taught me. He was a stallion when I got him (a VERY calm one, but still a stallion), and I had never ridden one before this, so he got me over how insecure I used to feel with stallions. With him, I got my first blue ribbon, had my first experience training a horse (he didn't know how to jump), and pretty much got to see a different side of riding. I even taught him to ride and jump completely tackless. I swear that horse is a saint, he had the best head ever. Right now he's semi-retired, we're only using him so that little kids learn to ride on him. I still ride him from time to time, but he's having a well-deserved rest. However, I can see him every day and I love that ♥

sorry for the loooong post xD

The Old Man - Elvis
He ain't nothin but a coonhound... howling all the time...

Anyways... He is a 10.5 year old Coonhound Mix. If you know me, you know I love this dog more then my husband, and my husband knows it.

The Moron - Bruce
Okay... he's a moron but I love him anyways. He is a 4 year old lab mix and scared of everything. He's getting better but it's taken a lot of work. He is very loveable, sometimes too much.

The Diva - Epic
Out of all my animals... the one animal that has the most personality is the 7 year old Netherland Dwarf... She likes her cage and she will have her way... except if it's against me... then she'll just be grumpy and she'll let you know...

The Demons - Ariel & Merida
These... cats... are... demon... spawn...
I swear, if it causes problems, they WILL do it. They're ridiculously lovable, and they do their job very well (my little mousers) but they will eat my kitchen tools (even my wooden spoons :( ) and they try stealing the dog's and rabbit's food, and anything you eat needs to be guarded heavily or they will steal it. Anyways.. the cuties...
Ariel - Pink Collar

Merida - Blue Collar

I swear, I have two cats!! I'm not trying to pass 1 cat off as 2!!!

And I can't not post this one... I think this is Ariel... Maybe...
