Horses Happiness

#46113 Posted on 2016-06-10 08:16:34

I have a few unhappy clydesdales. I have taken care of them everyday and just started giving them sugar chunks yesterday in hopes to increase their happiness. Should I skip showing them for a couple of days until their happiness goes up or does anyone have any suggestions? Thank You Lady

I think happiness does effect shows, but personally I would show them anyway (or put them into a riding school) which will give you the chance of getting stats.

I would actually advise against feeding sugar cubes to your horses, they will make it harder for your horses to win competitions in the end. Regular treats are actually better. As long as you continue taking care of them their happiness should continue to slowly, but steadily, increase.

I agree with everything aggie just said..
Your horses' happiness will improve with regular daily care and treating. The problem with sugar cubes, hay cubes and peppermints is...yes, they give an extra stat boost or two ..HOWEVER, they give random stat boosts... which can result in your horses gaining stats in the areas you dont want them to have any in..
For example...if you have a clyde training in driving... you want to make sure all the stats they gain are in the areas of strength and endurance.. So you would want to feed either red apples ( to boost strength), or turnips ( to boost endurance).. By feeding sugar or hay cubes..you could inadvertently be building stats in unwanted areas like intelligence or agility... as that stats in the unwanted areas increase, youir horses will not perform as well in shows...
I would also continue to show or send them to riding school daily to help build their stats..

I would care for them the same way as my other horses if I were you, to be honest. The majority of my horses are from the rescue centre and I have had a few come with a low happiness bar. It'll go up eventually, you just gotta kind of ignore it I guess! Treating and caring for it of course, so that it will go up, but I don't think there's much you can do except wait otherwise.
