I love the news updates! I always get excited when the notification turns up. I wouldn't mind if the news updates were small and frequent instead of large and less frequent.

If news updates were more frequent, it will probably lead to less excitement because they would the "norm." Just like if holidays were everyday, they would be less "special."

I support adding height and/or temperament would be neat. It would be another way to personalize a horse.
I also support limiting general store items!

Also I saw someone mention cross-breeding....I'm very against that. I like our breed art and having non-crossbreeds makes it more of a challenge.

Oh and just my two cents, please don't add anything too complex to the game play, because like others have mentioned, the more horses you have the more time it takes, and I rather not spend alllll my time online. Especially for the users that work 40 hours a week.

I would really like to see site wide contests. Like when we had the snow ball fight it was really neat to compete against EVERYONE. Maybe we can have something similar where there's 2-3 teams and which ever team accumulates the most stats gained wins? I know these site-wide events would take time, but having them once in a while would be entertaining

I think you should add things like a farm where you can have crops or livestock to make money because right now it is a struggle for me to make money and way too easy to spend it. So I think you should add a farm like that, kind of like the one from horwse.

i've been MIA for a while so forgive me if i'm being ignorant or missing a recent important game update; what really attracted me to games in my teens (and still does even though i don't have the time anymore) was the competition and the exclusiveness competition causes. i was far from the casual player though i know accessibility to being casual is extremely important as well but you need to grow the dedicated user base that drives up quality horses and the economy before you can grow the casual user base that can benefit from it.

high stakes competitions that cost credit entries, special breed only competitions, breeders sweepstakes, etc.

the suggestion earlier about side-wide contents - yes. the weekly lottery isn't really that dynamic nor gets the community going. i don't want to name games but since it's a really big one that's succeeded for so long - Neopets has really made itself interactive with the contests and regular "dailies" that keep you coming back every single day.

more dynamic clubs & groups would also increase time spent on the game. functions that led to socializing with others through PMs/chat functions were a huge draw as well. side-wide forums themselves make it difficult to create a community.

./and end the random thoughts of suzy, lol

I very strongly support the idea of breed-specific competition, as well as something along the lines of breeders' sweepstakes. Those sorts of things are actually ideas I had wanted to present for consideration in regards to clubs (which I know is something I said I'd do quite some time ago - list up my suggestions to get people more motivated to be active in the clubs - I'll get to it, I swear, ha).

I like the idea of high stakes competition, but not for EVC. A hefty EVD price tag, no problem. Unless it was perhaps a once/twice a year type of thing with HUGE payouts and every horse was guaranteed to win *something*, even if it's just $10 or so, lol.

I'd like to see the 'Hall of Fame' changed as well. "Hall of Fame" implies all-time record-holders and the like, but as it is now it's just current standings and does not contain past records of earlier horses. I'd like to see an actual Hall of Fame, and then perhaps change what is currently in place to something like 'Leaderboard' or 'Current Standings', or whatever.

I really wish that there was a better way to make money outside of the art community. Very broad, but I can't think of anything specific.
But, I also wish that your account could be a rider. Like, you could ride other peoples horses for money (Like in RL), be judged, and have important competitions you won in your "rider profile". I feel like this would add a new perspective to the game, where you could improve your riders stats to help your horses do better (Because riding isn't all in the horse! :) )

^ I like the idea of having a human character/avatar that we level up. We sort of have something similar with player levels, but we could expand on this with the introduction of stats or skills. And with every player level we could get, say, 5 or 10 stat points that we can distribute amongst our character's skills. Skills could be things like:
- showing skill, which would provide a small show boost for all your horses for every stat in that skill.
- training skill, which would provide a small increase in the chance of gaining stats in certain circumstances.
- horse care skill, which would make certain aspects of horse care cheaper and/or easier.
- luck skill, which would slightly increase payout from games, rides, or similar.
- perhaps other things if we have player 'jobs' that got implemented, as mentioned in another suggestion, and increasing these skills would increase our ability to perform those jobs.
- any other ideas for skills?

*edited to add* A human character/avatar may or may not have a graphical element to it. We could have something integrated into the game where people can choose different clothing, hairstyles, facial features, skin colour, gender, etc for their character using built-in graphics. Or just have the ability to upload our own image, just as we do with tags and signatures (I'd prefer this over the first suggestion, as it's both cheaper for the game to implement, and more versatile for players). Or not have graphics at all, in which case the focus would solely be on the player skills.

I really like what you said about the jobs and having that turn into bonuses. I also like the idea of just not having an avatar so that the stats and skills are what is prominent.

I'm sorry if someone already mentioned this, but I'd like something to do with our foals. If I remember correctly (I am old so...) there was at one point mention of them being able to be trained. If that's no longer feasible, perhaps they could be used in the Riding School instead. It just seems a shame that for the first 3 years of their lives our horses can only gain stat increases from being given treats. Thank you!

Agreed. I'd like to be able to show them, to be honest. In real life, many shows will have in hand foal classes. Maybe set it up that the foals can only enter one or two shows per day. While it's not a lot, it'd at least give them something to do rather than being lumps that just eat food for 3 weeks.

I agree with that as well. Are conformation shows coming back? That would be one way to show them. Or how about some sort of "in-hand" type show? Breed-specific? Discipline-specific? Something that takes suitability in to account (which would require the foal have a set discipline, which I know some folks don't do right away)?

Maybe just returning to conformation shows would be the easiest since conformation is now a factor overall.

I'd like to see breed shows, but there would be the concern of there potentially not having a lot of entrants. Maybe two types of in hand: conformation and showmanship. Conformation would be judged on horse conformation, obviously. Showmanship would be based off of stats.

I like that idea a lot - conformation and showmanship. Perhaps even sets of each for both foals and adult horses (separate for each, I mean, so foals are not competing against adults). But even just for foals would be fine. Adult horses already have plenty of ways to gain stats/points/earn money.

Perhaps foal-specific breed-specific shows could be run by the clubs, kind of like the current club shows? Maybe one show per day or something though, rather than the once a week that I think they run now. Encouraging well-bred foals of each breed seems like the kind of thing that would fall under the purview of the clubs. (Though I don't think it should be restricted to club members; just by the appropriate breed.)

I like the idea of a conformation and a showmanship show for the foals, as well. What would be the best way for these shows to be created? Run by the game? Or created the same way as other shows by players?

I think foals being able to enter 2-3 shows per day (say one conformation, one showmanship, one breed-specific, going by the current suggestion) would be nice. It'd let them actually *do* something, but is a much lighter "schedule" than our regular horses have.
