So when I used to play here (many moons ago) you could feed treats on gain stats, depending on the treat depended which stats.

Is this still the case?

Yep. When you treat horses using treat bags/crates/bunches you have a chance of gaining 1-2 stats in the section you're treating. If you treat with a single use treat/ungrouped treats the chance drops to 0-1 stat gain.

You now have to treat your horses from your inventory rather than assigning them to a particular horse.
