things are coming along!

So if any of you read my last post, there was alot going on in my life, the horse i was going to buy, the girl backed out, broke my saddle and many other things but..

first-
the saddle has been fixed! Heres a picture of it(was taken before it got broken still looks the same, also dont mind how the latigo was tied i was in a hurry)

shes a feisty little thing, we've been working on her stopping, she has a lot of"go" and trouble on the "woah" once shes up and moving. Weve changed around her bit, she was in a dogbone roller snaffle, but weve moved her to a twisted o-ring snaffle.It helps with giving better signals in the mouth as she doesnt neck rein. 

After we get some good training together and everything is going well, the start of March we are going to enter to do break-away roping! Lily has some experience with a rope, so shes chill with them. Now we are going to have her get expericnced with the cows. 

The original plan was to do pole bending, but we found shes a little clumsy, she tends to trip on her own feet which would not be good in the middle of a run. So were going to try roping;)

Along with Lily, there are two new horses in the pasture. One is an OTTB, 4yo, he has had minimal work done, he halters(not easily) and thats about it. So we have also been working with him on other days. Also, Little bit, shes a pony, her buddy coliced and her owners had to get rid of her so shes staying in the pasture now. So we have alot going on now! 

But with the good theres always bad
one of my favorite horses at the barn where i work, Katmandu(aka Kat), had to be put down. He was sick with a heart disease.
Another one of my friends horse Stetson, she bought from someone a few states over from us. Was told he was 10. We had a vet come out just for routine check up and they said he was 25-28, and he had cancer. So they retired him to pasture, then went outside one morning and he was down. They went ahead and euthanized him :(  But its been a few weeks and i do believe she has got a new horse. 

But ill keep everyone updated as we make progress :)

that's all so awesome!! The new mare looks just like my new gelding :3


in regards to the 2 horses passing away, I feel you, it hurts. My mother's mare was just put down this afternoon, she always used to whinney when we pulled up to the driveway, that's gonna be the hardest part about her being gone♥

I'm glad that things are now going well for you and you have recovered from the few bumps in the road. I'm always happy to see your updates. I'm sorry to hear about your favorite barn horse as well as you friend's horse. It's never easy losing a beloved one.
