Ramses

Ram caught Lynn's nod through the corner of his eyes, and a new sense of courage swelled up in his chest. For a brief moment, he felt guilty for even thinking about the idea of leaving her sister behind. He shook his head to himself and charged out into the clearing, going straight for the man holding the unconscious girl. Without hesitation, he launched forward, pulling back his fist to release a solid punch towards his face.
Humans nearby dropped the children they had and pulled out their guns, some even scattered from the scene immediately.

Lynn

Lynn lunged at the man holding her sister at the same time Ram delivered a blow right on his nose, claws outstretched. She bit into his side, making him drop Hannah to the ground. Lynn winced at the thump she made as she hit the floor. Suddenly, she heard a bullet zoom by, nicking her ear a bit. The sharp pain and the feeling of blood trickling down her ear brought her out of the haze she had been in for the last few seconds and made her realize where she was once again: right on ground zero. Eyes wide, she looked at Ram

Ramses

When Ram actually realized they were shooting real bullets at them this time, he flung himself over to Hannah, scooping her up in his arms. "Go! Get out!" He screamed at Lynn desperately, he ducked his head down, shielding Hannah with his arms as he made a break back towards the forest. He pumped his legs as fast as he could while carrying the extra weight of the girl. He stumbled when a bullet whizzed past his head and another grazed his arm, sending a shoot of pain through it. He hissed, clenching his jaw tightly.

Mika

Mika saw Lynn and Ram sprinting towards the first kink of trees. A small, round bullet zipped through the air and landed on the ground. Mika kicked it away guardedly. She stared at some students. Well, they were students. Animals of all kinds were scattered around the clearing. As another bullet hurtled past her elbow, Mika knew they needed to get deeper into the forest. They weren't safe here.

Killa

She heard the whiz of bullets and looked behind her shoulder. Ram and Lynn were racing for the cover of trees as the people who did all this shot at them. She noticed the blood on Lynn's ear and Ram's arm and her stomach turned. Real bullets? She stumbled on a stick and turned again to focus on running. Alice was just ahead. Killa could hear bullets spattering into the forage, and she could feel the vibration of her paws hitting the forest floor run up her legs. Pine needles scattered with each thump, her tongue lolled from her mouth, her ears were flat against her wide skull. She knew that they needed to keep on pushing into the woods - they weren't even out of sight of the "bad guys" yet. They could still shoot at them, though accuracy was minimal with the tree trunks, thorn bushes, etc. getting in the way and blocking the fleeing children from those who sought to destroy them. Killa glanced again at Ram and Lynn hurtling toward her and freedom. Some of the ones with guns pursued them, shooting at them with either real guns or tranquilizers. Their aim was way off, since they and their target were in motion. Killa didn't know why, but she pulled to a halt at the sight of the two running, Ram with a girl in his arms. Anger flared again in Killa. How could people do this. She turned completely around and took a few steps back toward the damaged school. She pulled to a stop, her common sense grasping for control. Her teeth bared, and she didn't move. She would wait for the two to catch up before turning and running again. Her teeth bared and she let out another roaring growl. Part of her challenged their pursuers - Come on, face me. I'm a roaring, angry wolf. But part of her shouted out for them to see sense - Can't you see? I'm not a vicious wolf, I'm a terrified child.

Mika

Mika desperately wanted to fight but she hadn’t honed her skills well enough yet. As bullets whizzed through the air, she ducked behind a bush for cover. There were crowds of birds, mice, rats, insects and other small beings hiding in the bush and Mika gasped when she almost sat on one. A plan began to brew in her head but she wafted it away with a shake of her hand. A bird fluttered onto her shoulder, and when she studied it closer then she found it was a young starling. It sang quietly in her ear, but Mika didn’t understand it. Disappointed, the bird started to mime actions which its wings. Mika held back a laugh. She gazed into the starling’s hopeful eyes and suddenly she understood. Nodding, Mika confirmed the plan and the starling shooted up into the air and danced from tree to tree, nimbly dodging bullets. As the attackers ran into the forest, trees whacked them around the head with their untidy branches. Bushes tripped them up and sent them flying head first into the fallen tree Mika had tripped over earlier. As the second wave of enemies entered the forest, deer charged at them and swarms of bees and wasps chased them away. Everything went quiet. The regiments stopped and looked up at the sky. Mika’s nose tickled. She knew what was about to happen. It always happened in stories. As her mind wondered, she forgot that she was about to..

Sneeze.
The pursuers turned their heads in unison towards her bush. Right on que, the starlings swept into their beautiful formations and descended down onto the attackers, pecking them and dizzying them. One of the enemies escaped the fierce parade of starlings and crept behind Mika’s bush. The birds turned to see him knock her out and pelted anything they could find at him in anger. The last thing Mika saw was the man fall and a feeling of pride sweep over her. It was not over yet.
There were still plenty more attackers to come.

Killa
She saw Mika duck behind a bush and almost called out to her. She should be running, not hiding! But she realized that she, too, was not running, but probably for a more foolish reason then Mika. A starling fluttered into the bush as well, and when it didn't explode out again at the sight of a human, Killa became curious. She was tempted to walk over and see what was going on, but the starling flew away and the oddity was over. Until the creatures of the forest began to attack their pursuers. That was when Killa realized Mika's power - she was able to talk to creatures. She wished her power was as useful. All Killa could do was turn into a wolf, and it wasn't even reliable. Her wolf form wasn't any braver then her human one, had no extra heroics. She had seen her reflection while in wolf form in a puddle once, had felt the vibrations of her paws hitting the ground crawl up her legs, and she admitted that her wolf form was much stronger. What was the purpose of strength if you weren't brave enough to use it? Killa came out of her reverie as a bullet slammed into the ground near her. She met the eyes of a man, chasing after Ram and Lynn, with his gun raised toward Killa's head. His aim was off thanks to his not stopping his pursuit. A deer seemingly rose from nowhere and charged the man. His eyes widened with fear, and he instinctively pulled the trigger on his gun. Killa saw it glint in the filtered sunlight half a second before searing pain shot up her leg. The bullet had only glanced off her paw. She stifled a sob and lifted it daintily off the ground. How could she run with an injured paw? She looked up to see the man who had shot her running from the buck. Killa limped to the bush where Mika crouched, seeking shelter while she tended to her injury. When she ducked below the top of the brush, she noticed that Mika was out cold. She sighed and gave her paw a tentative lick. It stung, but oddly brought relief at the same time. She licked it for a few seconds until the bleeding stopped. She turned her attention to Mika and nudged her with her muzzle. Wake up. Please! She nudged her again, and this time risked a low whine. Come on, wake up. We need to get out of here. She bit back her reluctance and licked Mika's forehead. It was gross, but she would rather do this then be caught by their attackers.

Mika

Feeling something cold and wet on her forehead, Mika’s eyes fluttered open. The first thing she saw was A wolf gazing at her, trying to get her to whale up. She realised it was Killa. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. Suddenly, reality hit her like an apple on her head. Oh, she thought, this is real. From the corner of her eye, Mika noticed a streak of bright red on Killa’s paw. Mika gasped. It looked as if she had been shot or cut in the paw. She bent over to have a closer look. Yup, there was definitely a bullet in there. Luckily, it wasn’t very deep. Mika sighed at her lack of medical skills. She tore a strip of navy fabric off her T-shirt and wrapped it around her paw, tight but not too tight. She didn’t know what else to do. She noticed that people were screaming behind the bush. The bad guys were close. They needed to run. Now.

Killa
She looked gratefully at Mika as the other girl wrapped her bleeding paw. They needed to get out of here. She stood and shook out her fur, glancing to see Ram and Lynn still running. They would catch up. She gently tugged Mika to her feet and nudged her back, motioning that they needed to start running. The monsters chasing them had no heart, and if anyone was to survive they needed to get away as fast and far as possible.

T

T was silent the entire time, only finding room to save himself from the attack brought upon him and the others. He ran for what felt like forever and hid in the shadows so not to be seen or caught by light. His skin was already irritated from being out for so long. His eyes scanned around and he kept his ears open to listen for anyone that was coming near. He heard sounds from behind him, but he hadn't the slightest idea who it could be. He decided to stay put and rest in a small shallow cave like structure that was no deeper than a few feet.
