My plan was to look at points just prior to resuming and subtract those. It's not a huge deal, just more tedious as North mentioned.

I'm not completely against starting again in January. However, the problem with stalling that long is that many players tend to lose interest, so we'll end up with even fewer competitors than we have now. This has already happened in the one week given for entries, so a whole month is pretty concerning.

Ultimately it's up to you guys.

But how long will the competition go? Will it still be a month?
I also think extending it would be another chance to get more entries. I would personally be willing to message everybody who entered and let them know what is going on and see if they were interested in stalling. By messaging them, it would remind them of the contest, etc.

BUT I'm also fine with starting up whenever and just on the day of restarting whatever points you're at is the starting point is what will be subtracted. That totally works for me too.

I won't be bothered either way :) I'd just like to know in the next 2 days so if we do stall until January I can unlock my current competitors, and then breed some of my horses for new competitors starting January.

I would be up for starting as soon as we get some kind of official confirmation that things are indeed fixed, and would also be fine waiting til Jan. I am just excited to participate whenever it happens.  ^-^

I would prefer starting everything back up in January for like a fresh and unbothered start. I have bred some horses recently, so they should be ready to compete by then!

Hey could we decide today sometime? I need time to breed horses to be 3 by January if that is the decision we do!

Competition will resume tomorrow, guys.

I’m trying to make everyone happy, but please understand that as a full time working student I simply don’t have the time to scratch everything and start over. The benefit to holding the competition primarily in the month of December is that I don’t have classes during that month and have a more substantial amount of time to dedicate.

The amount of time it’s already taken to crunch numbers, evaluate and enter horses, create rules, create fillers, etc. is pretty crazy and I just won’t be able to redo that after semester break.

I feel terrible that I'm not able to make everyone happy. I wish I could.

However, I am hoping to hold similar competitions between each annual Olympics, so there will be room for improvement.

**edit

As far as points go, all earned before the resume date will be discounted. Essentially each horses will have a clean slate.

Okay, that is fine.
Will the competition then go until January 9?

That's the plan, but I'm open to input.

I'd like to still keep it a month long.

Also, just because I know you have to go through everybody's horses today for points to start them out at... To help you out (as I'm planning to enter them into shows here in a few minutes), here are all of my horses show points on the starting day, in case you haven't already done this:

Charlene (Western): 3978
Darby (Western): 3572
Deadpool (Dressage): 3958
Voodoo (Dressage): 6780
Hercules (Jumping): 1334
Megara (Jumping): 960

Website has been updated with new "starting" points.

They are the numbers in green.

Good luck everyone! Hopefully we don't have any more bumps in the road.

Jasmine, thank you for ALL you are doing. This is your baby, and you have done and are doing all the hard work (for free, from the goodness of your heart!). Our ideas and preferences are just that -this is your Olympics and we are all happy just to be enjoying and benefitting from your hard work. Don't be hard on yourself! You rock and we are grateful!

Hahahah I am absolutely an idiot xD I left my horses on locked after I entered into shows days ago.. So I can't show them today. OOps!
Dang flabbit

And yes Jasmine, thank you for your hard work and time :)
I'm currently just waiting for my horses to grow older so I can breed them... All I do daily is feed, treat, show, riding school. so this has brought more excitement into EV at the moment!

Hello everyone!

I'm currently working on an efficient way for me to keep track of scores. Spreadsheets are not my strong suit, so bear with me xD

@jasmine, if you need help collecting data, I am happy to help! I would offer assistance with making spreadsheets but have no experience creating functioning fotmulas, sorry.    :)
