Before my brother was born, my parents tried to see how their dogs would react to the baby. They bought a doll and put it in a crib. One of the dogs, Monster (the trouble maker), sniffed the doll and my parents thought "okay, maybe she won't do anything TOO bad". Then she pulled the doll through the bars of the crib and shook it around in her mouth. Thankfully, she never did that with my brother and the other dog they had was usually really good with people, but wasn't comfortable with him until he got older. Monster would steal and bury diapers, toys, clothes. My younger sister would also use Monster as a pillow. She would put her head on Monster's side and fall asleep.
