Manip Critique

So this the first manip Ive done in ages. I havent done much to it yet. Im totally stumped on how to draw a mane in. I use to smudge them out when I use to do these ofter but it seems like the drawn on mane is whats in style now. Maybe someone has some pointers? Im open for all comments and critiques :)



oh and if I finish this/like the way it turns out would there be a market for it?

I love the whole atmosphere of your manipulation! The horse pose, color etc goes very nicely with the forest.

The only odd things to me are that the horse appears to be too slanted in relation to the ground, almost like he/she is going to tip right over.

You can throw a pillow at my face now and tell me to shush because I don't know how to do manips XD

I love the background and horse pose that was chosen I agree with minty on the slanting but that's an easy fix if wanted.

For the mane and tail painting I usually just color pick from the top of the strand and just go strand by strand (which is similar to the smudge tool haha) to make it look more natural. If I am in a hurry or its just for me then I just take a large brush and draw big strands then slowly make my brush smaller in detail. It's hard to explain I really like to look at tuts on deviantart or other manips while I'm doing it.

I think that this will sell very well if you can find someone to code or if you know how :D

Hair tut

I really like this, but I think that the horse looks like it's about to tip, and that it is standing on the twigs, etc :) Maybe you should add shadows? :)
