Is conformation affected by stats?

I thought I had read somewhere that high-statted horses might produce higher conformation foals. Can anyone confirm or deny? Is conformation based solely on the confos of the parents?

I *really* want to improve confo in DWBs, since average right around is around 55%

there is talk that maybe foals can be affected by the grandparents confo stats has well
