Is it okay to use EV horses for char.reference?

I don't know who is the right person to answer this,  that's why I'm asking here.

Is it okay (if not, I'd like to hear why) to use the eyedropper tool over the original artwork of my EV horse to get the exact coat colour of that horse? Not meant to copy the shadings or else, I only need 3-4 colors to get color palette that matches the horse I want to design. I won't be tracing or even trying to copy the exact design, only slightly referencing the characteristics of the breed I'm drawing and eyedropping to get the coat color as accurate as possible so that people would recognize Its the same horse. 

The horse I'd like to redesign to be my character is The first horse (link) I bought when I started this game. She's the most common color, bay, but It makes a huge difference if I try to get the coat color right without eyedropping as I'm not an professional when it comes to digital painting. 

It is not, you would be infringing on the intellectual property rights of Equiverse. It would be the same thing if you colour picked from someone else's design. I would recommend you do not do this.
