Opinions Wanted...

#228237 Posted on 2020-09-29 17:53:06

Hello to whoever you are, wherever you are, reading this right now. (And warm welcomes.) I'll try and keep this short and simple.

So, I am in desperate need of some opinions. I've got 2 horses that are 21 and will be dead in the next 5 days. UNLESS- I lock them.

So pretty much I'm just asking for thoughts on locking horses so they don't die. Feel free to share. :3 Convince me your opinion is best folks.

Most reasons for locking is to keep for breeding purposes, to match with a partner. No one really seems to care about it sometimes. Except those who do have to lock their horses up, they seem to be a lil annoyed sometimes, that's why there was a discussion about AI's. There's no real problem locking them and would recommend on locking them if you want to keep em for breeding.

If it is for breeding reasons, I just go and use a outside lines. I have decided on locking some horses up, but not really. It's all up to you lovely!

They are too old to breed unless you want to breed them badly enough to use time twisters on them. Most of my horses I let die at 22.

Are you thinking of locking them for sentimental reasons? Since they are too old to breed I'm guessing that might be it? I have thought about that with a few of mine that were special. The reason I didn't lock them after all was because I knew that I could see them in my Former Horses box...with all their information and any notes. I realized that I wouldn't go to see them in a Locked Division as often as I thought I would, so decided against it. Plus, since they really can't be used in any way without aging, I didn't see much of a difference...

I lock my horses if I don’t have time to take care/show/etc them all due to RL or EVD or even bc I’m contemplating what I plan on doing with them; I find it a helpful feature for those reasons. However, I have to agree with Blackcat41 with being able to view former horses option instead of locking them. Additionally there’s a hall of fame feature for individual players on your home page that you might be interested in. Obviously it’s your choice to make, but I hope this helps.

Thank you for all your opinions/views!

As a few of you said, they are too old to breed. Yes, (and I do believe they've both been bred at least 3 times- which is my max. Lol. ) So thank you for throwing that out there as a possibility!
They aren't super special to me, but my soul might ache if I say bye to them (just a bit- haha!) And thank you for bringing up the former horses tab, too. This definitely contributed to my decision.  I realize that I can still go back and check them out every once in a while.

So, since it is technically a part of nature, I guess I'll just, well- let them die. :3. Thank you for all your opinions, I was really on the edge of this one! Thanks, guys! ❤
