I feel kinda like treated unfair now, I dunno if I have the right to complain about this, but my mare really was a sooty grullo roan, it just didn't show in her genetics. Her mother also had sooty.

And instead of changing her genetics, my topic got removed, and her sooty got removed, so I am totally [censored] off now.

I really feel like stopping to play right now.

I just submitted a ticket, I am so very agitated right now.

I mean, I knew that some of the colors were still buggin in the first week or so...? But things should be changed now correct? I had a few custom horses coats that were not showing up properly and they got fixed...

why did the post get removed though?...

Her roaning did get one gene extra though, I think as a comparising, but I still like the old her better.

You must know I am not mad at the mods, just a little stunned and disappointed, because I would love to breed with sooty in my ponies.

megansparrow I'm not sure if gaia already told you this or not, but your topic wasn't actually deleted it was resolved, so the topic was locked and sent to the top of the fixed pile (located in the last few pages of the bugs forum).

And there are still some problems in general with genetics (especially if you use the marking or coat applicator on your horses). And occasionally genes just disappear for unknown (at least to me) reasons.

I understand your frustration at the game right now, but I think I would keep playing and just count it as a sad loss.

I posted about an almost identical topic: I had a mini that I purchased from someone specifically because it was sooty. But after revealing the genotype, I found out it didn't have the sooty genes listed at all (not just that it didn't have a dominant allele, but that the genes were missing from the genotype.)
I posted on the bug board, and the genes were added, but the apparent dominant sooty was taken away. I'm certain the horse did have a sooty gene, as one of its parents had one as well.
I was just disappointed because that gene was literally the only reason I'd purchased the horse. :/

I figure it was probably an oversight, adding in the genes without really looking at the phenotype. I'm disappointed, but not at a level to no longer wish to play or anything. Hopefully I'll get another opportunity in the future to get the gene into my herd.

I find it quite weird my horse actually got another roan gene in exchange.

I am glad I am not the only one in this case, I will add sooty to my shetland stores though. Might also save up for this girl her sooty.

Megansparrow, don't give up. Just give the recode awhile longer to get adjusted. I'm sure many of us have disappointments at how things "changed" over. I lost a ton of Christmas tack and humorously was compensated in some odd ways.

As an aside so we can at least get one thing straight - we mods have no ability to change anything other than making suggestions to Abbey. We cannot change genotypes or horse images. Abbey is the one who makes the final decision on how those things should be handled and takes action accordingly. Kinks are still being worked out, obviously XD

I have a Teke that was grullo on the old EV & now is just black with no markings. I don't know enough about genetics to know if grullo is something Tekes can actually have so I never mentioned it, but I was sad to see his coat change. Don't give up, megansparrow. Things are still new and Abbey's doing her absolute best to address everything the mods bring to her. Just give EV some more time to grow into the fantastic game we all know it will be.

@Sparkles - most of my Christmas tack turned into tail guards & Endurance saddles...

Valzed, Tekes don't have the genes for dun or champagne in real life, so that's why they were removed in the recode :)

Vos, that's sort of what I figured. Like I said - I know very little about genetics and wasn't sure what Tekes have so I didn't bother asking Abbey about it. Thank you for the info, though! Now I know for the future! :D
