Should horses at Grade 5...

#1274 Posted on 2016-02-14 10:36:11

Am I the only one who thinks the horses should have had stats that changed to go with what grade they were at? I had a Grade five that is now a regional and I have other mares that were grade 2/3 and are now N3 to L4. I was going to breed them at 20 but now I feel like they've been jiffed and am not so sure about them.

kimta, I understand. I'm just upset that my really good stated horses are now nothing compared to what they were on the other version and with most of them being older it's not really worth it to have imported them. They should have made stats go up to go with the grade they were in.

They aren't nothing though. They have the same stats as they did in the old version. No horses are going to be at that high of a grade. It's still an even playing field.

Don't think it's a huge deal, it didn't reduce your stats and i'm not sure that that many people look/care about grade level. Plus if your horses stats are that good then you'll get to a higher level pretty quickly.

The grades are determined by stats, so even the very BEST horses from the old game aren't at the top grades in the new version. If your horses were high-statted there, they're still high-statted here. :)

In the game now, Abbey has tried to remove the stat cap (the unofficial point at which it became almost impossible to produce offspring that would be better than their parents.) Ideally it will now be possible to keep going into stat territories that were never achievable in the old version, so there's a lot of room to improve and reach levels no one has hit yet!

I played on the beta testing and my 20 year old store horses were at 1000+ stats. No way are my current 15 year old horses going to be anywhere near that since they weren't that high. They were decent horses but now aren't anywhere as decent. I don't consider them high stated at all since I can get store horses and have them higher stats than my lined horses at 20.

Horses on this version gain more stats then the previous version, so of course your beta horses were higher, they were getting 10-20 stats a day for their entire life, not 4ish stats a day for the first 15 years.

Relax, your horses are doing well. :)

If you were playing beta from way back in the beginning, there was also an accidental glitch that gave all active horses hundreds of stats overnight. (The stats meant to be awarded in shows to individual horses accidentally went to ALL the horses.) That meant a lot of people wound up with young 1000+ stat horses, but that's not indicative of how stat gain will really be working.

Yes, horses do gain more stats in this version, but that's a good thing! It means that horses don't more or less dead-end at 1000 stats the way they did in the old game. Your horses starting with higher stats from the old version will also still increase faster for the rest of their lives, and their offspring will start from a higher baseline with the newer stat gain as well, so they'll still have an advantage!

^ Complete truth.

Those 1000+ stat horses were a ton o' fun though.

What do the the letters with numbers mean before the horse's name? like L1 or N1 or R1

It's the levels the horses can compete at. N1-5 - Novice, L1-5 - Local, R1-5 - Regional, Na1-5 - National, Int1-5 - International.
