I love it too!!!! ♥

However, what should one do if they have been feeding their babies Hay Cubes all this time? I am honestly rather concerned about this and hope that I didn't ruin myself with lots of young horses that CAN be shown; but have been fed Hay Cubes all this time to boost their stats before being reconverted into the correct discipline.

I am thrilled about the foal training! :D

I'm wondering in general what effect (if any) it will have on young horses that already have a discipline set. (Like if you already set it prior to the implementation, have those disciplines been reset to nothing? [Checking on Rising Dawn's account, young horses with a discipline set prior to now still have that discipline.] Or if you pick a different discipline post-training than you set at birth, will it count as changing the discipline/make you pay to do so? [This will only matter for a few weeks, as any foals born after today will not get a discipline set.]

Basically, I think it'll come down to whether setting the discipline post-foal training reallocates *all* earned stats (the way changing a discipline usually works) or if it will only allocate the stats earned via training.

For now, I don't know what it means for horses currently assigned a "temporary" discipline and being fed hay cubes... because if it doesn't reallocate the treat stats, then you'd have to convert the discipline twice, which means spending credits.
After that, if it turns out that treat stats aren't reallocated, then I'd say that the hay cube strategy is obsolete. If it *does* reallocate stats gained by treating, then the hay cube strategy is even easier.

*joins in the "Abbey Is Awesome" party* I have been so looking forward to foal training! Woo hoo! Thank you, Abbey!

(So.. um.. I've never trained a foal in real life. Could someone let me know what order horses are trained in so I can try to do it that way here on EV? Thank you!)

I've been told that any tack and discipline already set on the foal will reappear when it turns 3.

Abbey said on the news that it didn't matter if you fed them cubes, they'll convert as usual.

It's updates like these that make me think we should have an Abbey Appreciation Day.

I think as far as Abbey's answer in the comments on the news post, we just aren't sure if she meant that converting training will work the same way as usual outside of foal training, or if foal training worked the same way as converting training.

(So if someone has a horse being fed hay cubes and assigned to endurance, but they really want to convert the horse to dressage, should they assign endurance at the end of foal training, and then pay the 10k to reassign the discipline to dressage? Or if they assign dressage at the end of foal training, will that take care of the stat reallocation from the treats as well?)

I *think* based on what Maple said above, if an already-assigned discipline will reappear on the horse when it turns 3, then that may mean that you've basically just already chosen which discipline your training stats will be assigned to. (And hopefully the game will properly read that to shuffle the stats into the right place.) If so, then if you have horses in the "wrong" discipline to get the stat boost from hay cube treating, it seems that you should be able to convert the discipline as normal (for the 10k as usual.)

I think some of this will just be wait-and-see to know exactly how different scenarios will play out.

It would work the same way as when we didn't have foal training. So you'd set your discipline and then convert to the right discipline at three years old if you're using the cube tactic. Or if the horse was already assigned a discipline before foal training was added, then you'd convert that at 3 years old. If you fed them cubes and then set a discipline, it wouldn't change the stat allocation unless you convert. I assume the training stats would be convertible like treat stats (since training isn't discipline specific anyway) and reallocated on conversion.

I was able to convert my one of my foals today that had the training already set. Their is other issues I am having. But I put those comments on the bug board.
