A member group for those that are interested in breeding for excellent conformation on EV.
Post up your pairs and share the conf results.
Theorize on how the numbers work!

For sharing your well conformed horses of at least an 80.0 AVG CONF.
*Post as many as you want if they meet criteria (and that you own them lol).
*Please, no deceased horses or horses 21 and up.
*Please note if you are the breeder, if you want that noted on the list.

as someone who is starting from scratch (aka store) I don't yet have a horse with above 80 conformation.

I can share my current foals/parents/future-pairs and help do the math on how to determine the conformation of second generation foals, but beyond that there's a few too many variables to account for (at least for now and for me xD)

Right.. I am trying to figure out the best way to track the breeding trials. I don't know that the group message board will be enough space per message.

I will be keeping a chart once I breed through my currently matched pairs. I'll probably be slow going at first since I don't have anything above mid 60s but I am hoping that maybe if I average the sire and dam's confo and maybe take a look at past gens I might be able to get an idea of how it all works.

EDIT: Uhhh actually upon looking through my herd I DID find that TicTac to Heaven has got some good conformation!

To be fair though I've never bred for conformation before... just colors and stats. It'll be interesting to see how the foal averages out... probably will be in the mid 50s maybe low 60s overall?

I didn't start breeding for confo until the recode so I think I'll need a generation or two before I can get consistently 80s + foals, but these are currently my highest confo horses!

Arty I saw on the group page that you're looking for someone with a 79 or 80 in a stat to confirm the good/excellent cut-off. Here's what I have:

One - 79.00 in knees, good.
Two - 80.00 in head, excellent.

(Edit: Ha, I didn't notice these are all whole numbers, whoops. I've been focusing more on color than conformation, so I haven't paid attention.)

here's the cutoffs!
i compiled them for my tekes :)

less than 12 - ?
12 - 24 = awful (range of at least 12, but possibly more)
25 - 49 = poor (range of 24)
50 - 79 = good (range of 29 points)
80 - 95 = excellent (range of 15 points)
96 - 100 = perfect (range of 5 points)

@Merridiel - I don't know if it's possible to have that exact number but if 80 is for sure excellent and 79 is for sure good, it's safe to say the tipping point is probably 80 > 79.99. Thank you! (I am assuming that there are some hidden decimals on individual traits)

@Kahzie I - Thank you! I'll double check what I have posted (and I will add the ranges!).

@posted conf forms - Will try to add them all in today. I keep sitting down to do so and things come up (aka young puppy distractions - it's like having a toddler right now, lol!)
