Uh Oh.. Stats and Horses

#76174 Posted on 2016-11-19 05:38:59

I just started and I think I may have messed up my horses and stats. (Thankfully I've been playing less than a week, so hopefully I can sort this out.)

I just realized today that horses needed certain stats for certain specialties and they get some from food and some from training. I think I have been feeding several and training several wrong.

Is there anyway to fix the stats that I've already messed up before it's too late? :/ I have about 15-20 horses and I have no idea exactly how badly I've messed my herd up.

You could convert their specialties to what now suits them best, but I don't think that's very cheap.

Yeah, I was looking at converting, which is 10k for each horse. :/

Honestly, I'd be better off just getting new horses and starting over since it's cheaper, which sounds horrible to my mind. (I know it's just pixels.)

or you could focus on color or conformation instead
Bruce has a high-in-demand (I believe) modifier, silver, so it'd be wise to breed him if you want good colors

Thanks for that tip! I'll put that in his notes!!

I have no idea what I'm doing really, so all information helps. I've googled a few things but until I see something new, I have no idea what to do yet :D lol

You shouldn't have to worry about the training, at least I think, because the stat boost points will only boost the specialty of the horse. And it's never too late to start treating right, if it's only been a week, that's only 7-14 stats wrongly placed.
I use sugar and hay cubes on all my horses because even though it's in all areas, they can gain up to 5-10 stats per treat, although I don't think that's ever happened lol.
If you need this
Carrot-speed 1-2
Yellow apple-agility 1-2
Red apple-strength 1-2
Turnip-endurance 1-2
Green apple-intelligence 1-2
Sugar-0-1 in all
Hay-0-2 in all
Peppermints-0-3 in all

Ok so when we train a horse that should be western according to the stats before adding equipment (idk what they were born with) for endurance and feed them agility food, it's not ideal, or at least that's my interpretation according to this that I found:

Intelligence and Agility affect Dressage,
Speed and Intelligence affect Western,
Speed and Agility affect Jumping.
Endurance and Intelligence affect Endurance,
Strength and Endurance affect Driving, and
Speed and Endurance affect Racing.

Or am I still not getting it?

I'm fixing the treat problem now, basing treats on what training they should be receiving according to their stats, and over the next bit of time, I'll work to convert their specialties - starting with my "older" horses that I rescued.

like raptorfang said you can focus on color or confo with them instead, but a week of wrong treating won't ruin a horse. the more non-discipline stats a horse has, the less likely they are to win shows, so keep that in mind.

I've got a special division for horses that have too many non-disipline stats to do well in shows and I just use them in the riding school, which is still a good way to make money and earn stats.

ETA: since you mentioned converting them eventually, I just wanted to reitify something that you might already know. You can't convert the stats that a horse was born with. So conversion is great on foundation horses, but unless you're going to "reconvert" multigen foals, it's sometimes best to stick with the discipline their parents were trained in. :)

The stats they're born with are on the left in black and the ones they earned are in green on the right, correct?

If that's the case, I can convert them, slowly, starting with the older ones that are already showable - since I picked up several youngsters 0-2 year olds. That would help with the bigger problem which is screwing up the older horses that can be earning money in shows or would need the stats if I breed, right?

the green stats are the added stats from the equipment.

Thank you everyone ♥ I've made some notations and some adjustments already! I'll try to get them converted asap and those I give up on, will stay with me, just in a different capacity (breeders or training instead of shows).
