Buying and Selling Horses

#61723 Posted on 2016-08-17 10:39:58

Hey there!

I have just returned from a rather large break so a lot has changed.. And even when I previously played, I didn't get all that much involved and probably misunderstood a lot of things..

Because I have come back and everything seems so new again.. I need to try and wean myself back into the swing of things! To help me do that, I was thinking of decreasing the size of my stable which then leads me to my question..

When I was playing previously, I was trying to breed what I thought to be of rarer colors for Paint and Miniature horses. I did manage to get some pretty nice colored horses (or what I thought). So I would just like to see what everyone looks at when buying or selling their horses? Is it stat based or conformity based? Or does it depend on what the buyer is wanting? I am assuming there is going to be one main feature that most people do look out for? Or none of the listed!

I also have no idea on what to sell the horses for. This being because I am unsure what to look for, or what people are looking at.. I cannot compare to current horse sales?

I appreciate any help that anyone is able to offer.

Thank you!

I think it really depends on what individual person is looking for. Some look for conformation while others look at genetics. Others might just look at their stats. Can't please everybody!

As for sale prices... I think the "norm" right now is 10k/stat? I can't quite remember.
ie: if a horse has 136 stats, they would be sold for either $13,000 or $13,600 depending on what the seller listed them at.

Is it stat based or conformity based? Or does it depend on what the buyer is wanting? I am assuming there is going to be one main feature that most people do look out for?: It depends on what the buyer is looking for, but usually the one main thing people want is stats, and lots of em. People who breed for color (like me), would be even more willing to buy a horse if it had nice coloring. Same with people who go for confo, markings, etc. But like I said, the one main thing people want is stats.

I also have no idea on what to sell the horses for. This being because I am unsure what to look for, or what people are looking at.. I cannot compare to current horse sales?: I personally don't use the 10k/100 stats thing until a horse is at 200 stats. I would not pay 10k for a horse with only 130 stats. I usually just put them around 5k if they're under 200 stats. If they have color/marking/confo bonuses, I may add an additional 2k or so, but that's about it.
