|| Hamu ||

"Listen up, princess," Hamu said with a sneer. "I'm not going to to be hunting for you. You help, or you catch your own food. Any food I catch by myself will be mine, and mine only, so if I feel like hunting don't expect me to bring anything back for you. I'm not your servant, and out here you and I are no prince or princess. This is the real world now. If you want to survive, you have to work for it." His voice turned into a snarl and he bared his fangs. Her stubbornness would end up getting both of them killed! What kind of lazy and arrogant lion couldn't even help to catch her own meal? "You're pathetic." He muttered loud enough for her to hear.

|| Kilio ||

He wanted to say no, but then Kilio realized he wasn't really in any hurry to actually find Malkia. "Of course." He slowed into a more comfortable pace. He could feel Aina wanting to protest, but she remained quiet. If Malkia had disappeared, that meant she was no longer going to be the next queen. He would be returned to his own rightful place as heir and he would be the favorite by default. What was so bad about her disappearance?

|| Malkia ||

She was boiling with rage as she glared at him. "I'm sorry my parents never taught me to hunt! Is that what you wanted to hear, Hamu? That I don't know how to hunt? Because I don't! No one bothered to show me, and the one time I tried I ended up with two broken ribs and a gash in my cheek!" She roared, fuming, her eyes welling with tears slightly.

She felt like such a cub, having to admit that she couldn't hunt. She took a real blow to her pride, and she felt out of breath. She turned away from him, panting. Her chest seemed to be completely empty, no air left. Walking away, her muffled cries could be heard.

|| Roho ||

"Thanks," She muttered as she slowed to the much comfortable pace. "So why do you hate your sister so much?" She asked, just wanting to break the silence and not knowing what else to talk about as they looked, though her eyes weren't actually focused on finding them.

"No one ever taught me to hunt. It's literally instinct." Oh god, he was going to laugh. He was about to start cracking up hysterically. How did she not know how to hunt? All it pertained to was using your nose to find prey, keeping low to the ground, and pouncing on it. Easy! Even as she walked away from him, he had no pity or sympathy. He had figured it out through trial-and-error over the years. Plus, couldn't she just have asked someone to show her? It was her own fault! Of course Hamu would think that, being the lion he was.

"I'm still not hunting without help." He called, flopping over and raising a paw to lick and brush over his ears, one at a time.

"I don't think it's hate, really. Jealousy is the more accurate word, and due to that jealousy she's stopped caring about me so I stopped caring about her. I was the firstborn-- a son that Kifo should have been proud of. Both of my parents loved my fiercely up until she was born, and then all of their attention flipped around. Before she was even an adult they declared her the heir-- or heiress-- of the pride, moving me to be second in line for the throne. I had spent my whole life training to be king, and they had just pushed it all aside so simply." Kilio explained, flicking his tail and curling his lips back. "She was spoiled, I was ignored. It happens to the best of us."

|| Malkia ||

She kept walking, shaking her head. "Starve to death then, you irrational, good for nothing, poor excuse for a prince hyena hearted fool!" She called back. It wasn't like her parents ever let her out of their sight! This was proof enough that she wasn't good at being a lioness, because she had been so sheltered and kept away from the real world.

"He's just a pest, Malkia. You don't need him, you don't need anyone to find your way back home!" She told herself quietly, quickening her pace. Her coat was completely covered in sand and dust again, despite being in the water not long ago. It made her skin itch and frustrated her quickly.

|| Roho ||

"Well, you're still royalty. You have the power to make your own pride. So long as anyone would join you. Its unlikely, but impossible." She shrugged, not really caring that she had been srude to him. He was just like Malkia it seemed; stuck up, stubborn, and cub-like.

(Oh, sorry I didn't see this! DX)

|| Hamu ||

"M'kay." Hamu replied nonchalantly, rolling on his side and rasping his tongue over his paw a few times, then raising it to his head. She'd be back sooner or later. If she needed food that badly, he was her only resource out here to get some. All he had to do was wait. At least he had a water supply right there. She'd probably be back for that, too. This deserty-region was dry and hot, even at night. Stars above, what did he do to deserve this?

|| Kilio ||

"You make it sound much easier than it is." he mused, sparing a sideways glance at Roho. "My pride is all about loyalty, and they're loyal to Malkia because she is to be the next queen. If I could even get enough followers, I'd then have to lead them somewhere. Most of the land anywhere remotely near us is already occupied by a different pride, and the land that isn't occupied isn't because it's either dangerous or doesn't provide the things necessary to live. I will not lead a group of lionesses away only to lead them to their deaths. Plus, my pride is my family. Leaving would be like challenging my father and Malkia. I don't want enemies, especially in my family." They already disliked him enough, he didn't want to change that dislike to hate.
