Equine Center GV Colors

#39564 Posted on 2016-05-20 09:00:55

Is is possible to get the more rare colors and marking from the Equine Center for Gypsy Vanners? Such as cremello, perlino, splash, tovero? Without paying for the custom coat.

I've made probably 100 EC Vanners now, and all of them have been Black, Grey, Bay, and Chestnut. I may have had one or two Smoky Blacks.

Really hoping for cream genes, overo/tovero, splash, flaxen, etc. Is this even possible or am I wasting my money?

I believe it is possible, but very, very, very rare.

If you have the finances using the coat applicator is cheaper than completely customizing a horse so that might be a more viable option for you. :)

Coat applicator only does the base color right, and no markings?

What about the coat randomizer? What are the chances or getting something rare with that?

Coat applicator changes the base color and modifiers, but doesn't change the markings on the horse. So you can get a perlino, or cremello, or perlino dun etc. but the markings that were already on the horse will still be on the horse.

The coat randomizer does give out random colors (including palamino etc.) and you can get rare colors using it, but I don't know the exact chances of getting a rarer color.

I've gotten a couple rarer colors from the Equine Center. So it IS possible. Whether it's a bug or not, I can not say.

I made a couple more EC foals until I got a solid one. Then I took a gamble with the coat randomizer and got a Smoky Cream Dun!!! One of my favorite colors. So pleased. Now I'll have to try again.

From what I saw when making EC Vanners, the colors are usually bay, black, chestnut, or grey over those. Sometimes a single cream, like a buckskin, smoky black, or palomino; and sometimes a seal brown as the base color. (Brown is rarer than the other base coats.) I believe I got a classic dun at some point, but I could be misremembering.

For markings, they're usually tobiano (either hetero or homozygous), or tobiano-roan, or tobiano-sabino. Sometimes they are solid or sabino-roan.

I have not ever seen a double dilute (perlino, cremello, smoky cream) or flaxen chestnut out of the store, and I've never seen any of the other markings like pangare, overo, or splash come out of the store.

The color randomizers are actually quite nice, as they randomly select from any of the base colors, single dilutes, double dilutes, or dun color variants, so most of the time you get an awesome color! And it's far more affordable than full customs or applicators.
However, flaxen is not available with the applicator, unfortunately.

I have *not* ever experimented with the pattern randomizer or applicators. I'm a bit curious as to whether flax or pangare might be available that way, as someone mentioned getting silver with a pattern randomizer, although that's not something I can verify. (I would think flax and silver at least would be more of a color than a pattern, but I'm not sure what it's classed as in-game.) I imagine a pattern randomizer/applicator would at the very least give you a chance at overo or splash, though it could also just stick you with regular old tobiano. :P

It is possible, not very common :c
I got this girl from the equine centre, and she's a Palomino Tobiano Roan.

It's mostly up to luck on what colour and pattern you get

I have gotten so many many bay horses, or grey with bay underneath from the Equine center. so irritating! It is possible to get cream from the equine centre, I've gotten more buckskin that I can count. I have 5 horses with Ata, though some of t hem also have the Grey gene.

I've never gotten a Dun, Flaxen, Overo/Tovero horse from the Equine center before. I think really the only way is to find a custom horse. Let me know if you have any luck though!

I usually use the coat randomiser on my EC horses and ended up with some lovely rare GV coat colours when I did them?

I don't have GVs, but I use the coat randomiser on my TBs. Never gotten anything that wasn't "rarer" (ie double cream or single cream).
