I have this horse, Outback Hooligan, she is a N2 grade horse entering in N3 grade shows. Is this normal? She hasn't completely reached the end of her training bar and it says on her page she is N2. Is this a bug, or is she really entering N3 shows?

since she's above 200 stats she is N3, but the grade beside her name only updates when Cron runs. The training bar has nothing to do with what grade she's in - it affects luck in shows and how far they are to the next "luck level" essentially

So your saying the stats change her show grade? Man! Why do games always do this? I thought the grade was on their training level, not their stat's level, shouldn't stats just be how well trained they and how well in shows they'll do, not show grade?

So confusing, always so confusing. And so much to learn! lol.

Thanks for your help, made me somewhat understand this confusing show training and stuff. XD

yep!

i've copied + pasted this below from the FAQ regarding how many stats your horse has and therefore what grade they are in:
N1 - 100-149
N2 - 150 -199
N3 - 200-249
N4 - 250-299
N5 - 300 -349
L1 - 350-399
L2 - 400-449
L3 - 450-499
L4 - 500-549
L5 - 550-559
R1 - 600-699
R2 - 700-799
R3 - 800-899
R4 - 900-999
R5 - 1,000-1,099
Na1 - 1,100-1,299
Na2 - 1,300-1,499
Na3 - 1,500-1,699
Na4 - 1,700-1899
Na5 - 1,900-2,099
I1 - 2,100-2,499
I2 - 2,500-2,999
I3 - 3,000-3,999
I4 - 4,000-4,999
I5 - 5,000+

the reason there are different grades is to ensure that the horses your horse is competing against don't have an insanely high number of stats compared to your horse, and is a way to even the playing field. on the old EV, a horse with 150 stats could show against a horse with 1000 and the 1000 stat one would always win.

training adds stats to your horses and the more training you do (and training levels you reach) increases the "luck" that your horses has in showing. so if your horse was level 5 in training and was competing in N3 shows with another horse with exactly the same stats, tack, and conformation (another thing that affects show results) but which was only level 1 in training, your horse would do better due to their increased luck.

Oh, that makes sense. Thank you for your help. I understand completely now with the stats and training thing. Now I don't have to worry about my best horse suddenly going in shows higher then I thought. But even though she is now in N3 shows, but why does it say her grade is N2, shouldn't it be like N3 now that she is showing in that level?

It only said N2 because cron hadn't run and updated it yet like Kahzie said. It'll display N3 now.
