I just assumed that since they are black and chestnut, would get a bay foal, but, he's doesn't have heterozygous chestnut at least? Is there a possibility of a black foal or a foal that is heterozygous for both genes? I am a little confused on this.....

you have a 50% chance of a black or chestnut. You would need a 'A' to have a bay and since neither parent has a 'A' you can't get a bay foal from this breeding.

Sweet!!!! I'm trying to only breed blacks or chestnuts (or flaxen chestnuts if I can get horses with the homozygous recessive ff gene). :D

Yeah, to avoid bays, you just need to avoid the capital A. If all your horses are aa, then EE and Ee will be black, and ee will be chestnut, and you will never, ever get a bay.
