Twins

I just got a set of TB twins. Haven't had twins for a very long time and they were Arabs, I wasn't sure if twins were still possible, but it was a nice surprise.

The first time I had bred horses on EV, I had gotten twins and I was like: What just happened?

I also had gotten a set of twins!

I sold them though, same Arabs but palomino I think? I don't know they were twins, so they had the same names but just switched around.

Haven't had any since!

I've looked up in the news archives and its just states there is a very rare chance of getting twins, so I think it's random not hereditary, which is a shame. My first set of Arab twins never bred any themselves, I did try or any of their descendants produced any. Ok not actually 'twins' just siblings or fraternal twins so not identical. Although there is always the risk in the real world of one or both foals being weaker so less likely to perform well.


I found this article online; Just like in people, there are twins in horses that are born both identical and unidentical. It totally depends on the mare and the pregnancy. Some foals will be born completely identical with matching markings, genders, and coat colours, while other foals will be born with different coat markings, opposite genders, and different coat colours.

it is very dangerous in real life for a mare to have twins. Not only for the mare, but the twins. The best option is to kill off one of them before it's too late. Thus saving the mare and the remaining foal.

Yes that's right, the link in my earlier post explains the risk to the mare. Most mares will absorb or abort the second foal as it also poses a risk to the foals too.
