canine companions. critique?

Well, thanks to Buck I have found something I am quite good at in mey opinion.
Canines!
I would love some critique.

Please don't steal anything posted here. You wouldn't like it if someone took your hard work!

My first ever attempt at doing any canine was for Gaia's Bloodhound Character contest, which turned out pretty good.
This is the entry:

Then, with some encouragement from the amazing Buck, I decided to continue with the canines to see how well they turn out.
So, my second project is a Dachshund! I've only got the basic lines done for this guy, I have been working on making the lines cleaner - so this image is from the last screenshot while working on the cutie. I have somewhat fixed the feet. When my laptop comes back from the dead I will put an update up as well of the Dachshund.

Please tell me what you think of my new found skill!
After I finish this guy, Buck has suggested doing a Doberman and a Great Dane. What breed do you guys think I should also attempt when finished?

Thank y'all! Have a great day/night/morning/afternoon/pie!

They're adorable! How about something with more fur? Like a collie, maybe? I'm sure they'll all be just as cute!

Wow!! This is so amazing! My only critique is to adjust the placement of the eye for the second drawing. It would look even more realistic if you moved the eye down just a tad bit in my opinion. Other than that, it looks super good!! :)

Thanks guys!!
I'll add Collie to my list ♥

I'll move the eye down then screenshot then compare the before and after in the morning... Then I'll see what looks better ♥ in the second drawing the eye is smaller than it is in that image by a leeeetle bit jtlyk

They're adorable! Sno, I don't know if you have Sai, but if so, it has a feature that lets you select a portion of the drawing (separated by layers) so that you can easily adjust it. It's super useful! I'm not sure if GIMP has something similar (at least that's what it looks like you're using based on how GIMP shows transparency. xD)

Thank you!!
I do in fact use GIMP ;3
I think GIMP may have something like that but I really don't know because I haven't really experimented with the program much xD I don't want to break it x.x

Experiment, experiment, experiment! Experimenting's fun! xD I doubt you'll break it, but if you do, you can always reinstall it. Just make sure to save often. xD But if you don't try new things, you can't improve!
