Crafting?

@Hieronymous, lately I've been using a method called "Shadow Wraps" (https://socktopusunplugged.wordpress.com/2011/02/05/short-rows-shadow-wraps/) that I like well enough, but this Fleegle Heel you mention sounds intriguing... I am almost to the heel on these socks, so I'll have to try out Fleegle!

I'll have to investigate that Shadow Wraps technique sometime.  I really love the Fleegle Heel, because it's super-intuitive and easy for me.

@Gaia:

I used to think a bullet journal was just another hobby for bored housewives with too much time on their hands, lol :p
But several people recommended bullet journaling because it helped them organise their time more effectively, so I decided to give it a go.

I only just started a month ago but I really like it. I had dozens of to - do lists, a journal, a gardening journal, three different calendars pinned to the kitchen wall, an agenda, notebooks, planners, etc....  I was trying to be productive and stay organised but it was confusing and overwhelming. I was never good at planning so when I got home I really was all over the place trying to keep my house tidy, prepare lesson plans for work, taking care of our pets, trying to maintain our garden and so on... as a result I just didn't seem to be able to spend my time effectively. I often felt overwhelmed and exhausted, with little time left to do the things that I really enjoyed doing like reading or crafting.
The BuJo helps me plan and set realistic goals for each day and every week. It allows me to be a little less hard on myself. Writing stuff down, keeping track and visualising everything on paper encourages me to be less chaotic and spend more time away from my laptop, phone and tv.

So I cut everything down to my gardening journal, bullet journal and one calendar for my bf so he can keep track of my plans and family events.

I started by writing down a list of things I would like to keep track of in my bullet journal. Then I drew some drafts and sketches of page layouts. I also spent a lot of time watching how-to video's on youtube and looking for inspiration on Pinterest. However, there is a ton of information out there and there is no clear cut way of starting a BuJo, so it can be a bit confusing. Just remember that a BuJo is highly personal and you can do whatever you want with it as long as it works for you.

I don't use my BuJo as a daily planner (I still keep track of deadlines, meetings... on my smartphone because a phone will send me reminders and a notebook can't do that :p  ) but I do make a weekly spread with a meal plan and a to do list. I also have a bunch of trackers (books to read, exercise and health, creativity...) and part of my BuJO is reserved for brainstorming, making lists, moodboards, etc...

My advice to you is starting out with a cheap little notebook and try it for a couple of weeks to see if it works for you. It doesn't matter if you mess up a page or if a layout doesn't really work rightaway.

I bought a 7€ little journal in a local discount and tried it for a couple of weeks. Then I invested in a better quality BuJo and a whole lot of crafting supplies. I love drawing and painting, so I want my BuJo to be a reflection of my creativity but others just keep it very minimal. Again, you wan do whatever you want.

Your BuJo should be a tool to help you stay organised, a hobby or an expression of your creativity. It should never be another source of stress or yet another task to put on your to do list.  :)
