That was essentially my idea with adding luck in as an actual effect.  As in, if you're lucky, nothing will happen to disrupt the showing process and you'll get a perfect run, e.g. no plastic bags flying into the arena, the horse won't drop a pole on a fence, the horse won't stumble slightly in the race and lose a few metres of distance, etc.

The likeliness of something like that affecting a horse at a higher stage of training is slimmer, so the luck factor is diminished slightly.  That doesn't mean because lesser trained horses have a wider scope for luck that they could end up with a higher score.  I think that's what's causing some confusion here.

Basically higher trained horses will always have a higher minimum luck score than lower trained horses.  Lower trained horses can always attain the same luck (aka perfect show) but there's a higher chance that something will go wrong.

Unfortunately, that has the side effect of if all horses in a show are training level 5, the results become very predictable.  This topic is mostly to gauge whether you guys are happy with it being predictable, or if you'd like some more randomness so that there's a slight chance an underdog could win.

From the perspective of very carefully choosing when my horses show and how they are trained I would like their results to be mostly predictable. Lots of hard work and thinking goes into getting them that winning place and I like the idea for the most part you can gauge if the horse will do well or not. I'm not against a little randomness or luck where the best horse maybe only wins 6-8 times out of 10 instead of winning all 10. But definitely not too random. Also is there anyway show results could display scores that got each horse in which place? For us people trying to improve show results to have an idea what we need to do better or how close the show was?
